7 Tips for Visiting Atlanta’s Popular World of Coca-Cola

This post originally appeared 4/25/17 and is in partnership with the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta, Georgia.

A little over a week ago, we hit our 12th state by visiting the World of Coca-Cola located downtown Atlanta, Georgia at 121 Baker Street NW. However, parking is located at 126 Ivan Allen Jr Blvd NW in the parking garage.

Admission

General Admission for Adults is $17, Seniors (65 and up) are $15, Youth are $13, and Toddlers 2 and under are free with a paid adult.

The Coca-Cola Company is the world’s largest beverage company, offering over 500 brands to people in more than 200 countries. In addition to Coca-Cola beverages, other popular brands around the world include: Dasani and smartwater, Fanta, Gold Peak and Honest Tea, Minute Maid juices, Powerade sports drinks, and Sprite.

We even got to sample many of the beverages from around the world starting with entering the Lobby and being given a refreshing cold, Coca-Cola.

But drinking the many beverages is not all that the World of Coca-Cola offers.

Tip #1

Be prepared to park, walk, and wait in line to enter the World of Coca-Cola.

The Loft

After leaving the Lobby, we were then lead into the Loft. While in the Loft, a World of Coca-Cola Ambassador highlighted and shared stories about some of the many artifacts in the room. Many well-known international and historic advertisements are housed throughout the Loft. Even the ceiling is heavily decorated.

Coca-Cola Theater

Once we learned a bit about the great heritage of Coca-Cola, visitors enter into the Coca-Cola Theater where a six-minute film celebrates some of life’s most memorable moments experienced by people of different ages and cultures from around the world. This made me shed a few tears because it is extremely touching and emotional.

Tip #2

If you are extremely empathetic like me, bring tissue. You will need it during the film.

After the six-minute film ended, we were all welcomed to explore the World of Coca-Cola on our own. Throughout our time in the World of Coca-Cola, we easily learned about the positive contributions to the world that Coca-Cola has made such as continuously working to create rewarding careers and bringing economic opportunity wherever they may operate.

PictureAside from the Lobby, Loft, and Theater, there are many more exhibits to explore such as seeing the Coca-Cola Polar Bear, Bottle Works, the Pop Culture Gallery, Taste It!, the Coca-Cola Store, and many more!

Tip #3

Wear comfortable walking shoes and be prepared to walk.

There were so many exhibits to get excited about that it was hard to choose a favorite! But, according to my boys, seeing the Polar Bear and tasting the many beverages from around the world were their favorites.

Our wait in line to have photos taken with the Polar Bear lasted about 10 minutes, but as a mother what I appreciated most was that there were Coca-Cola World employees around to keep the children entertained using a variety of entertaining gadgets including stilts and puppets.

Tip #4

Know that when you take your photo with the Polar Bear, your time will be quick as they have to keep the line moving. Be prepared and have your phone and/or camera out and ready if you are using your own.

Tasting the beverages in the Taste It! exhibit was another favorite of the boys. We spent a considerable amount of time in this area moving from country to country sampling their popular beverages. We were surprised by how many actually tasted less like a carbonated beverage and more like juice.

Tip #5

While sampling the many beverages from around the world, pay attention around you. There will be many people and some congested areas, as well as minor spills. If someone bumps into you, do not take it personally. Everyone there is excited to be there, just like you.

Aside from the favorites of the boys, I enjoyed the Pop Culture Gallery and the six-minute video in the Theater. But, regardless of what your interests are, there is something for everyone, especially if you like to shop!

Tip #6

Regardless of what exhibit you choose, be patient and prepared to wait your turn.

As we wrapped up our experience in the World of Coca-Cola, we exited through the Coca-Cola Store where we checked out the merchandise and shopped for a few souvenirs to bring back home.
As we checked out, we were asked if we wanted to purchase a Surprise Bag. After, I said yes, the cashier yelled, “Surprise Bag” and all the cashiers chanted something like – “Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!” We all laughed and got a cute, little kick out of it before exiting.

That so cool to have visited headquarters of such a famous company. Love the decor, I’ll keep this mind if I’m ever in the area. 🙂
