NewAir Stainless Steel Black Wine Cooler Review

As a red wine enthusiast, I couldn’t wait to review NewAir’s Stainless Steel Black Wine Cooler which can be found on my 2017 Home Entertaining Holiday Gift Guide. I chose this particular wine cooler to include in my Home Entertaining Holiday Gift Guide for three main reasons.

Reason #1

If your home is not large enough for a wine cellar, or you live in an apartment, this particular style wine cooler is the perfect size. The NewAir AWR-290DB-B model weighs only 74 pounds with the dimensions being 22.50″ in length x 14.81″ wide x 33.63″ in height.

For our home, it fits perfectly at the end of the cabinets and looks like a small built-in unit.

Reason #2

Since this model holds 29 bottles of wine, party guests can bring their favorite wines to share and not worry about where they will be stored or if there is enough room for storage.

Reason # 3

This stainless steel black model has a wonderful aesthetic appeal which quickly becomes a conversation starter with guests. In addition, it has a modern look that matches with the rest of our of black kitchen appliances.

Packaging

Ultimately, I was impressed with the packaging. Prior to receiving the package, I was a bit nervous because I was not certain on how it would be packaged. I wondered if it would arrive broken or dented, but it did not.

The NewAir wine cooler arrived well packaged in two boxes with plenty of foam to keep it in place. Once the cooler had been taken out of the box, I sat it upright to settle for a two hours before plugging it in and assembling the handlebar. Assembling the handlebar was all that I needed to do, aside from adjusting the wooden shelves.

Safety

After everything was assembled, I added a few bottles of wine to get things started and tested out the lock that can be found on the bottom of the cooler. With two young boys, I appreciate having this model wine cooler with a lock and (two) keys. I can keep the cooler locked and not worry about them getting into it.

Key Features Include:

  • Chic blue lighting from LED bulbs
  • Compact design stores 29 standard wine bottles
  • Cutting edge black stainless steel finish
  • Dual chill zones for perfect storage of red and white wines
  • Less than 30 cents a day to operate
  • Removable craftsman beech wood shelves

Additional Features I Appreciate

In addition to having a great appreciation for the lock feature, I also adore the digital touch control panel. There is no guessing the temperature. You simply press the the buttons on the control panel to set the temperature and it’s ready to go.

Finally, the Owner’s Manual comes with information on how to store wines. I have not ever seen an Owner’s Manual that gave the consumer additional tips outside of the appliance. I feel that NewAir went above and beyond with listing the additional information.
