Summer vacation has finally arrived. I’ve been waiting for quite a while to have a few weeks free to enjoy slow, intentional living, whether that included days at home or on the road. We are taking each day as it comes.
This morning, I decided to get up and do a bit of decluttering with the candles lit and incense burning. When my daughter woke up, I thought it would be a great idea to make our favorite morning energizing juice with our new AMZCHEF Slow Juicer.
With this juicer being a bit smaller than the AMZCHEF Masticating Juicer, I felt this was the ideal juicer to include my daughter and allow her to practice the Montessori way at home. By including her in a real, purposeful task, I am nurturing her independence, her fine motor skills, and a sense of responsibility.
If you are unfamiliar with Montessori learning at home, it involves creating a space and routines that foster independence, self-directed learning, and hands-on exploration for children. This method of education was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian physician and educator.

Unboxing the AMZCHEF Slow Juicer
Before she jumped in with her stool to help, I began the unboxing, rinsed each part, and read over the instruction manual. I genuinely appreciate instructional manuals that are easy to read and understand. It’s also essential that you read the manual to ensure you assemble the slow juicer correctly. After reading through the manual and connecting the attachments on the juicer, we were ready to get started.

Our Routine Juice: Morning Energizer Juice
Our routine juice recipe has been our go-to for the past few months and never fails to give us a refreshing boost to start the day. This juice is packed with Vitamin C, supports digestion, and my daughter actually likes it, which is a major win. Below are the ingredients for about 8 ounces split between my daughter and I.
Ingredients
- 1 medium carrot
- 1 orange (peeled)
- 1-inch piece of ginger
- 1 apple (any variety)

Our Process Juicing
Once we were ready to get started, I washed all of the fruit, cut the apples, sliced the ginger, and peeled the orange. After all of the fruit was washed, I placed it in a bowl for my daughter to begin the juicing process.
Her role was to take each ingredient and put it down the feed chute into the juicer. It is very important to ensure all ingredients are cut into smaller pieces to allow them to fit down the chute.
After my daughter put the ingredients in, we would alternate pushing the ingredients down the feed chute with the food pusher to ensure that they were pushed through and juiced. The juice that is collected is squeezed into the small juicer container, while the pulp is extracted into the larger pulp container.
She really enjoyed this process because she learns by doing (pouring, peeling, and pressing) while also developing practical life skills in a calm and loving environment.
Allowing her to do this helps her to feel empowered and capable, which reinforces the Montessori principle that children thrive when they are trusted to contribute meaningfully to daily life.
Once all of the ingredients were juiced, my daughter poured us both a glass of juice.

Easy Disassembly and Clean Up
After my daughter and I enjoyed our morning juice, it was time for me to send her on her way while I disassembled the slow juicer for clean up. Before disassembling, be sure that the juicer is set to off and unplugged.
Once the juicer is off and unplugged, you can begin to disassemble it by removing the tray first, unlocking the juicer with the unlock button, and removing the various attachments. Once the parts are off, simply rinse or do a light wash and allow the parts to dry. Clean up was pretty quick and easy.
Final Thoughts
In summary, the AMZCHEF Slow Juicer is an ideal juicer if you are looking to include your children in the process of juicing. The juicer is quiet, has a longer feed chute that safeguards little fingers, and does a great job juicing.
