I don’t talk much about my childhood. Not that anything was horrible about it – it’s just something I don’t discuss. But, what I can tell you from my childhood is that I hated when our bath towels, washcloths, blankets, or pillows got to be too worn and tattered. And, if they had holes in them, I was devastated.
It drove me crazy to the point that when I became an adult, it became extremely important to me to always have nice house linens. So, when I was presented with the opportunity to review PineTales Bamboo Designer Buckwheat Pillow, I jumped for joy!
With this being said, this past week, I’ve been enjoying sleeping on my new buckwheat pillow. Now, I will be completely honest here, I had never heard of a buckwheat pillow until this encounter. I have heard of and had feather pillows, but never a buckwheat pillow with actual hulls inside.
So, if you are curious about the experience and what you can expect, keep reading.
Shipping & Packaging
For starters, the pillow was delivered by UPS in a very timely fashion since it’s made in the USA and came boxed very securely with PineTales tape keeping the box intact. I really appreciate the extra detail of the signature tape.
Check Your Body Posture
In addition to this, there is a document that contains a diagram of how to choose the right pillow and mattress called Check Your Body Posture. On the flip side there is information on how to remove hulls from the pillow to make it a comfortable and personalized fit for your body.
First Impressions
The pillow itself arrived in a sealed plastic bag inside of the box. This made me feel very good because I knew the pillow was arriving safe and clean (very hygienic). Other than taking the pillow out of the plastic bag, there was no additional work that needed to be done – unless you chose to remove some of the hulls for a more personalized fit for your body.
I love that this is an option because it’s not like your traditional one-size-fits-all pillow. This one is fully adjustable.
Designer Pillowcase with Zipper
Now, let’s talk about the pillow and its make up. The outside pillowcase is very soft and durable and has the logo imprinted into the pillowcase.
Once you unzip this designer pillowcase, the buckwheat hulls can be found inside of the next pillowcase, which is white. The inner pillowcase which holds the buckwheat hulls is made of 100% leak-proof cotton.
The Buckwheat Hulls
It is comforting knowing that PineTales Bamboo Designer Buckwheat Pillows are free of chemicals and their hulls have been screened and heat treated. In addition to this, they are naturally gluten-free. The makeup of this pillow allows for enhanced circulation – which is also very good to note.
Uses for the Buckwheat Pillow
Aside from simply having a comfortable designer pillow, it’s important to note that using a naturally firm pillow with great support allows for proper body alignment for the neck, spine, and head which in turn allows your body to properly rest.
And, that’s what we all want, right? Great rest, or a great night’s sleep.
Final Thoughts
If you are someone who is looking for a more comfortable pillow for a greater night’s rest, I would recommend browsing the various pillows on PineTales or watching some of the product videos.
At least four pillow options are available, along with two different sizes. Sizes include the Standard Pillow and the Traditional Japanese Size (shown in this review).
Is this your first time hearing about buckwheat pillows?
