First things first. One of my sons asked me if I had been having weird cravings as they had seen on social media. And, the answer is no. I’ve been eating decently and holding my weight pretty steady. Thank goodness! However, over the past week, I have had cravings for delicious, cold ice cream and fresh corn on the cob.
TCBY: Magical Color Changing Bowls and Hard Frozen Yogurt
One day last week, I treated myself to TCBY when I was out and about solo. I opted for a little fun by having it in a pink magical changing bowl along with a green magical changing spoon.
Apparently, it was a summer promotion last year for their 40th anniversary that has just happened to stick around. Either way, it was completely cute and summery and such a fun way to romanticize life!
Culver’s Frozen Custard
On another day, I asked the boys if they wanted to head out for some late-night ice cream. They were of course, in agreeance. Our ultimate ice cream destination was Custard Cup, only the line was extremely long when we arrived.
Since it was getting close to closing, we decided to head to the next restaurant open for ice cream – which was Culver’s. We each opted for a scoop of ice cream and headed home.

Custard Cup, Finally!
After a nap yesterday, I woke up and of course, had that ice cream craving again. So, I asked the boys if they wanted to head out for some ice cream. Again, of course, they said yes. And, again, our destination was Custard Cup.
This time, I vowed that we would sit in line because I knew that’s what I wanted. We sat in line for 30 minutes waiting to order through the drive-through, but it was worth every moment that we waited. The boys ordered strawberry cups and I had a scoop of strawberry and vanilla in a waffle cone. I don’t know what I was thinking, but it was way bigger than I thought, so I ended up feeling bad afterward. But, damn was it good!
I’ve told myself that I can’t continue on this path. So, moving forward, I’m making a promise to myself to be more mindful and allow ice cream to be a weekly treat – and not several times per week. I don’t want to be trying to lose tons of weight after this pregnancy.
FRESH Corn on the Cob
Aside from the ice cream, I have been having cravings for fresh corn on the cob. I’ve been making it at least twice a week and everyone is already burnt out on it. It makes me sad that they don’t share my love of corn with me because I make it super cute.
I’ve been using the cute yellow corn on the cob holders and pins that you put in each end. I’ve also been eyeing the ones that are in Target’s summer section that are pastel. We need those! We really do!
Final Thoughts
With the recent cravings for ice cream and corn, I’m leaning more towards thinking that these are simply my summer cravings and not necessarily pregnancy cravings. We all know that ice cream is the most popular and common treat during the hot summer months and fresh corn is most available in the summer months.
