Welcome to October 2019! I’m Sooooo Excited!!

I’m super excited about the month of October because there are so many fun days throughout the month. Aside from all things Halloween, you can begin seeing Christmas and winter items hit store shelves if you are really into Christmas.

It’s a little early for me, but I’ll be giving you peeks into some holiday items that are catching my eyes early on…like a pretty cool Christmas mug that I just ordered. You know I love my mugs, so I’ll give you a quick review of that later in the week.

All Things Sweet and Spooky

Aside from Christmas being put out all early, it’s also Valentine’s Day all over again with National Sweetest Day which is on October 19th. Sweetest Day happens to be the same day as our Family Halloween Party this year which makes me think that this is definitely to best time ever to make your “boo” a Spooky Halloween Basket! How sweet would that be?

Health Awareness Months

In addition to some late in the year loving, it’s also Breast Cancer Awareness Month and World Stroke Day on October 29th. These both hold major significance for our family because my mom is a breast cancer survivor and my dad passed away this year as a result of complications from another stroke.

You can read all about The Stroke That Changed Our Lives, but I’ll be updating it closer to World Stroke Day with some helpful tips that I didn’t learn until I had to go through the process. I’ll be sharing tips that I wish I would have known prior to my dad’s stroke.

Frankenstein Friday

Lastly, there’s an opportunity to go all out with “Frankenstein”. Whether you choose to celebrate Frankenstein Friday or National Frankenstein Day, just go for it.

Frankenstein Friday is celebrated on the last Friday in October making it, October 25th. But, you could also choose to celebrate National Frankenstein Day on October 30th which is actually the author’s birthday.

But, get this…

We all think of Frankenstein as the monster, but Frankenstein was actually the scientist who created Frankenstein. Sooo interesting.

Nevertheless, if you want to party hardy with Halloween, this gives you an extra day or two in the month to have some more fun! I don’t know about you, but this makes me think of wearing a green tee, making up my face, and watching the Incredible Hulk or one of the many Frankenstein movies. Haha.

And, speaking of Frankenstein Friday, I just saw this very large Frankenstein head that I wanted to get for our Family Halloween Party. But, the darn thing is like $60 and I’m really trying to justify if I want to spend $60 on Frankenstein’s head right now. LOL. Wouldn’t my little Frankenstein bobblehead below do the trick?! Hmmm.

What would you do?

Final Thoughts

While these are just a few things going on in terms of National Days, there are so many more. I’ll be publishing quite a bit this month as October is one of my favorite months. So, it’ll be fun and interesting. I hope you find some inspiration and helpful tips along the way. As always please comment and let me know what you think.
