We set out to complete the Lake Michigan Circle Tour a few weeks back. The tour follows state highways around Lake Michigan through Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. After picking up our campervan rental in Chicago, we headed immediately to West Beach at Indiana Dunes National Park. From a previous visit, I found it to be such a beautiful Midwest beach and was looking forward to using my Tesalate Secret Garden Oversized Beach Towel.
Over the past five years, I have been using Tesalate Beach Towels for various recreational activities but had not used them on the beach until now. My vision for using the towel was for me to be super cute and wrapped up in it on the beach, however, that vision didn’t manifest. Ha!
The reality was that by the time we made it to West Beach, the sun was beginning to set and the weather was too cool for swimwear. So, I laid the beach towel on the sand for myself and my children to relax, talk, and laugh.

1 – On the Beach
It felt so good to know that I didn’t have to bring multiple beach towels for us and that the one oversized Tesalate towel was enough. The Secret Garden Sand-Free Beach Towel measures 160cm x 160cm and is double-sided.

2 – Privacy Shelter
After wrapping up our time on the beach, we gathered our belongings and walked the trail back to our campervan. Once we were back and getting ourselves together for our next destination, we realized that the oversized beach towel made an excellent privacy shelter to change. All I did was hang the towel from two opened doors and use two clothes pins to keep them in place.
Once I figured out this functional hack, we continued to use it throughout our vacation when we needed a place to change. And, now that I know this, I’ll keep it in mind whenever we are traveling to the beach or camping.
3 – As a Blanket
Finally, when we were all settled in the van and ready to head to the hotel room, I realized that the towel made an excellent blanket in the campervan to keep my daughter cozy until we arrived at our hotel room for the evening.
If you are curious as to why we headed to the hotel, I decided that a hotel room was needed to get ourselves cleaned up from being on the beach that evening and would stay the night in the campervan the following night.

Final Thoughts
In summary, I have been using Tesalate beach towels for years and can attest to their guaranteed durability and rapid drying feature. Summer is just getting started and I am certainly looking forward to using more of my Secret Garden beach towel as the summer continues.
