Deck the Halls at the Ronald McDonald House

This week, my toddler daughter and I stepped into the holiday magic at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana for their annual fundraiser celebration. This year’s theme is Deck the Halls. Approximately 20 uniquely themed trees are being put up and decorated this week throughout the House radiating creativity, love, and hope.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana

If you are unfamiliar with the Ronal McDonald House, it is located at 435 Limestone Street in Indianapolis, Indiana. This year, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana is celebrating 40 years of providing a supportive home away from home for families of children receiving medical care at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health and other area hospitals. In fact, the Ronald McDonald House is literally steps away from the hospital.

Upon Arrival

When my daughter and I arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who shared information about the House and the fundraiser. We were then guided through the beautifully decorated rooms to admire the Christmas trees sponsored by local organizations.

It was such a special mother-daughter moment, and seeing my daughter’s excitement over the festive trees filled my heart with joy. Just as this experience brought happiness to us, I know it will also bring comfort and joy to those staying in the House.

As we strolled throughout the House, my little one was mesmerized by the twinkling lights and ornaments, while I admired the stories each tree seemed to tell. The event isn’t just visually stunning—it’s for an incredible cause.

A Peek at Christmas Trees

While I won’t be able to show you every beautifully decorated Christmas tree in this post, I can share with you a few of our favorites such as the Indianapolis Zoo-themed Christmas tree by Indiana Members Credit Union and Agiliti’s Gingerbread-themed Christmas tree.

Keep in mind that there are some beautiful trees that are not included in voting such as the “An American Dream” McDonald’s-themed Christmas tree.

$1 Christmas Tree Voting – Vote Online Here – Dec. 2-16, 2024

Each $1 vote cast for your favorite tree helps support the Ronald McDonald House in its mission to comfort families with children undergoing medical care. Every night, up to 51 families find a home at the House.

Thanks to the generosity of the community, businesses, and individuals, the House stays open 365 days a year, keeping families together when they need it most. This is why it is so important to cast your vote for your favorite tree.

To vote for your favorite tree, simply visit https://www.rmhccin.org/events/householidays/ and cast your vote.

Final Thoughts

I can’t think of a more meaningful winter activity for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. Whether you are able to visit in person or vote online, you’ll be contributing to a place where love, care, and community thrive.

We left with hearts full of gratitude and an even deeper appreciation for the impact of this wonderful organization.

If you haven’t already, take a moment to support the Ronald McDonald House this holiday season—it’s an experience that makes a difference!
