Today is a special day! It’s National Piercing Day, and I couldn’t be more excited to re-share our ear-piercing experience with you. As I mentioned in the previous post, Classy Girls Wear Pearls, I shared that my sister-in-law and I made the decision to take our daughters to Claire’s to get their ears pierced, and let me tell you, it wasn’t too bad.
But, first, let’s briefly cover National Piercing Day. According to the National Day Calendar, National Piercing Day is of course meant to promote piercing, but what’s interesting is that that calendar states the most common type of piercing now is the nose/nostrils and not the ears.
Who would have thought?
What’s even more interesting is that some Claire’s stores now offer nostril piercing! What a way to keep up with the trends.
Anywho, let’s get back to the day of the ear piercing.
As we stepped into the store, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff who were more than happy to guide us through the process and help us select the perfect earrings for our little ones.
Celebrating National Piercing Day in Style
When it came to choosing earrings for my daughter, I explored the adorable baby and toddler section. Among the various options, a small set of pearls caught my eye. I couldn’t resist thinking, “classy girls wear pearls.” They were perfect for her!
Once we settled on the dainty pearls, it was time for the main event. I cradled Brielle in my arms as the piercer carefully marked her ears to ensure precise placement. With the marks in the right spots, it was time for the piercing. With a quick pinch and a pop, my daughter’s ears were pierced.
Hooray! We did it!
Many people asked if she cried, and yes, she did. But the tears only lasted for about a minute. After the piercing, her ears were cleaned with the Rapid Aftercare Cleanser, and just like that, she stopped crying.
Let me make it clear that Claire’s isn’t sponsoring this post, but hey, if Claire’s happens to come across this, I’m open to collaborating in the future!
Now, while my daughter had one piercer attending to her, both of my nieces had the privilege of getting their ears pierced simultaneously by two skilled piercers. This worked wonders for them since they are both under 10 and were understandably nervous about the process.
By having their ears pierced at the same time, we avoided any unnecessary drama. Phew!
In between the girls’ piercings, we strolled around the store, marveling at all the cute accessories. It brought back memories of my own youth, wandering through stores like Sanrio and wanting everything that was pink and glittery.
Let’s Talk Costs
Since this post isn’t sponsored, I think it’s worth discussing the expenses involved. For the pearl earrings and piercing for my seven-month-old, it amounted to $76 with the 20% off promotion. The cost for my nieces’ piercings was slightly lower since they opted for different studs.
If I had the chance to do it all over again, I wouldn’t change a thing—except maybe indulging myself with a few of the fun items I spotted in the store. Hahaha!
Final Thoughts
If you’re contemplating getting your ears pierced, I wholeheartedly recommend giving Claire’s a visit. With their welcoming staff, fashionable earrings, and the convenience of the Rapid Aftercare solution, you’re guaranteed a delightful and fabulous experience that will make you feel like a million bucks—or at the very least, like a classy girl sporting pearls (smiles). Happy National Piercing Day!
Will you be getting any piercings done today?
