Can you believe it is already 2016?!
I just spent two weeks on vacation; no work, just relaxing with the family. Usually, I am ready to plan a million and five things, but this time, I was like, nope. We are going to chill out and relax. I ate more Pop Secret Homestyle popcorn than one can imagine and watched at least 20 movies. Okay, maybe not 20, but I was certainly getting close.
Two of the movies I watched really inspired some change in me…Scarface and American Gangster. LOL! Just kidding, they didn’t inspire much change in me, but those are a few of my favorites (wink).
No, but really, I watched Fireproof (for about the third time) and I watched War Room. They are actually faith based movies (regarding relationships) that will move you like no other (regardless of your religion or way of life). As bad as I want to gush all about them, I won’t. I’ll just leave you with the movie titles and let you check them out if you’re interested.
Wait! Let’s go back to 2016! What are your New Year Resolutions? Do you have a monstrous list that you know damn well you are not about to do? Or, do you have a seriously, attainable list that you KNOW you are about to crush?! Just wondering. Usually, I make an incredibly LONG goals list and only end up accomplishing about 75% of them because the list is usually…Wayyy. Tooo. Damn. Long.
This year, my objective for 2016 is to focus on less more. (This is going to be difficult for me because my mind is like a browser with 1,899 tabs open all the time.) So, instead of a goals mound the size of Mount Rushmore, my few goals are to focus on eating clean & training AND building my savings & erasing some old debt. That’s it. Well, and to make sure that we remain safe, happy, and healthy.
So, here’s the plan. Each time, I get the urge to plan some party or plan some get-a-way, I am going to ask myself, “Are your meals prepped?” “Did you work out today?” “Can’t you save that money instead of buying new curtains?” You know, questions, like that. I know I am going to buckle at some things (like birthdays…my favorite holidays), but for the most part, I intend to stay strong and finish out 2016 like a beast!
What about you? What are your plans?
