This post would normally be entitled, Becoming Boring Betty, but because I am focusing on my personal experience from DressLily, it really needs this My DressLily Shopping Experience title.
Furthermore, it was not intended to be a blog post, but is – so in this post you get nothing but real – real mess on the mirrors, wrinkled clothes, and blue earrings from today’s outfit. Haha!
Please, carry on…
Just Say No to the Struggle Bus
Anywho, I want to get off of the struggle bus with my boring mommy wardrobe, so it was only fitting to get to ordering. I chose to start small and only order two dresses because reviews were all over the place. Some customers reviewed that their experiences were awesome, others not so much.
However, my DressLily shopping experience has been exceptional. Here’s why.
This is not a sponsored post, although I have included referral links – which makes it a Win-Win for both of us if you choose to shop my links with DressLily.
My DressLily Shopping Experience
For starters, I purchased two dresses last week and they arrived yesterday. Whoohooo! This means that even for an international online fashion clothing and accessory store, they were able to get my order shipped quickly. Some of this is because they have partnerships with other companies such as Rosegal.
Nevertheless, this is a plus in my book because who wants to wait several weeks when you’ve placed an order?
Purple Halloween Dress $25
I ordered a purple Halloween dress because I wanted one so badly last year. However, I waited until the last minute to decide to order and never made the order. This year, I chose to be proactive and order early. I am more than happy with my purchase.
I plan to wear the dress to work, Disney, and the pumpkin patch with a cardigan, skinny belt, knee high boots, and purple earrings.
Measure Twice and Cut Once
Here are a few things you should know about the dress. It fits perfectly (to me) because I measured myself prior to ordering. In fashion school years ago, one of the biggest things we learned was to measure twice and cut once.
It was our rule of thumb while designing. And, it is a must that you follow this if you want your clothing to fit you. So, measure yourself twice before you order.
A few ladies in the DressLily Facebook Group asked me about the quality of the garments.
Here’s what you should know.
The dresses are gorgeous, however the fabric is thinner than what I expected. My advice would be to hand wash your clothing instead of machine washing to ensure that each item lasts longer. I also do not plan to iron these dresses, only steam them to knock the wrinkles out.
Floral Print Dress $23
The other dress that I ordered was this floral print dress. I can see me wearing it with skinny jeans because the weather is getting cooler.
:::: Me singing :::: It is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas Fall! Haha!
Anyway, another thing to keep in mind is that you need to check the measurements for each garment that you order. While my measurements are the same (duh), the sizes are not the same for each dress.
Size Up
In the floral print dress, I had to size up to a 1X and in the purple Halloween dress I had to size up to a 2X. Oh well. If it bothers you that bad, just cut the tags out when you get your clothes!
Final Thoughts
Well, there you have it! An honest and non-sponsored review of my DressLily shopping experience.
Oh, and you know how they say, “Throw kindness around like confetti”? Well, that is just what I did with my reviews yesterday, I stopped by a few review sites like TrustPilot and the FB Group and gave great reviews. Why? Because they deserve it and I’ll be ordering again.
Cheers!
