Newair 25-Quart Battery Powered Jobsite Refrigerator Review | Model: NPR025YLJ0

Each year for spring break, our family jumps at the opportunity to take a road trip off the beaten path. This year’s spring break road trip included another overnight stay at the Historic Route 66 KOA in Eureka, Missouri; only this time our overnight stay was in the one and only, Kozy Kaboose. And what better companion to have along for the ride than the NewAir 25 Qt. Jobsite Cooler Car Refrigerator?

Equipped with its modern and sturdy construction, and powered by a reliable Newair battery, this refrigerator on wheels promised to keep our drinks cold and our snacks fresh throughout our travels. And, it certainly delivered. In fact, with the push of a few buttons, it probably over-delivered. Here’s how.

Before taking off on our road trip, I charged the refrigerator battery, set the temperature,  and stocked the refrigerator with food and drinks for our three-day road trip. I packed orange juice, apple juice, yogurt, milk, sandwich wraps, cut veggies, berries, and a few mini salad kits.

During each of the stops on day one, I checked the refrigerator contents to ensure everything was still cold. Everything worked perfectly and I was impressed. After several stops including the Pink Elephant Antique Mall and Gateway Arch National Park, we finally made it to our evening destination, the Kozy Kaboose.

St. Louis West/Historic Route 66 KOA Kozy Kaboose

The Kozy Kaboose is one of the more popular accommodations at the St. Louis West/Historic Route 66 KOA and has most of the amenities you’ll find in a small cabin. When originally booking the Kaboose, I didn’t immediately see a mention of a refrigerator so it was essential that we brought along the NewAir 25 Qt. Jobsite Cooler Car Refrigerator to keep our foods and beverages cold and fresh without the mess of melting ice in a cooler.

Now, here’s where things get interesting, in a good way.

We brought in the NewAir 25 Qt. Jobsite Cooler Car Refrigerator and I plugged it up so that it could fully charge for our next-day adventures. As it was charging, I noticed my one-year getting close and on occasion thought I heard a few beeps. I didn’t pay it much attention and went on with our evening.

The next morning, I woke up excited to make yogurt parfaits because I intentionally planned each meal. I opened the NewAir 25 Qt. Jobsite Cooler Car Refrigerator and to my surprise, everything was frozen. Yep, frozen.

So, my ears were not deceiving me, my little one, did in fact push the buttons and change the temperature. So, it’s important to know that with a few easy adjustments, this refrigerator can easily transition into a freezer. I was not disappointed but also wasn’t expecting this level of power.

To add to this, a huge storm powered through the Midwest on the evening of the first day of a road trip causing power outages and hail. Although the power did not go out in the Kozy Kaboose, it could have and our food and beverages would have stayed fresh and delicious because we had the Newair Portable Jobsite Refrigerator.

Standout Features

With this in mind, I would have to say that one of the standout features of the NewAir cooler is its versatility. While it is designed to be powered by a range of batteries, including those from popular brands like DeWalt, Milwaukee, Bosch, and Makita, it worked extremely well using the Newair battery.

Whether we were charging it in the Kozy Kaboose or just had it powered on during our drive, the refrigerator’s flexible power options ensured that we never had to worry about running out of power for the duration of the road trip.

As our road trip continued, taking us from scenic views of the Gateway Arch National Park to hidden gems off the beaten path like the Pink Elephant, the Newair Portable Jobsite Refrigerator remained a constant companion, proving its reliability time and time again.

Its rugged construction withstood the bumps of the road, being dragged up into the Kozy Kaboose, and into a hotel room.

Once our road trip had ended, the remaining snacks and beverages were still very much cold. After removing the items from the refrigerator cooler, all I had to do was wipe it down with a Clorox wipe and put it away for our next adventure or power outage.
