Happy Thursday!
The weekend is near and so is Spring Break!
Last year for Spring Break I took a week off from work and the boys and I flew down to Florida. We went to Legoland, Florida, Daytona Beach, and Krispy Kreme. We also toured the Angell & Phelps Chocolate Factory and visited some other cool tourists attractions.
However, since we have so many small trips going on this year, we won’t be doing a big Spring Break vacation. With that being said, I have created us a fun and inexpensive staycation!
I have thought through every detail to make sure it is fun and adventurous without spending a fortune!
We will begin “Spring Break” together on Friday.
Staycation Plans
Friday – Orange you glad it’s Spring Break?!
The plan is to sleep in, have breakfast, play board games, lounge around, and watch movies until it’s time for dinner and the Straerkel Planetarium at Parkland College.
Since, I have a ton of orange party supplies left from one of their birthdays, I will be decorating and using all things orange on Friday. “Orange you glad it’s Spring Break?!” LOL
Saturday
Saturday, we will have our picnic and do Spring photos. My youngest loves picnics, so this one is for him!
After NAPS…YES! NAPS! <————
We will head back over to the Straerkel Planetarium for a showing of the Zula Patrol. Those cute little characters teach science in such fun ways! The boys will love it!
Sunday
Sunday is Easter. So, that day is reserved for my mom. She has her own plans for us and with us.
Monday
Monday will conclude our Spring Break staycation. We will wear character shirts (monsters and mutants), create crafts, play games, and watch movies involving monsters and mutants.
We already have our shirts! Wal-Mart’s selection is pretty awesome!
Other Goodies
- The boys will be equipped with their own disposable cameras to capture their own Spring Break moments as the disposable camera project.
- They will also have a 2015 Spring Break passport. After each item is complete, I will stamp their passport with a sticker. If it is filled in Tuesday morning, there will be a surprise waiting for them. I am thinking to have their pictures developed and placed in a mini-photo album to take with them throughout the day. Shhh. Don’t tell them.
- I have also pre-planned and pulled out certain things like sunglasses, hats, fleece jackets, shirts, bubble swords, games, etc. to make it even better and entertaining.
- Finally, I plan to make a mini-concession stand for the movie portions of Spring Break. A dollar tri-fold board decorated to place on a table with goodies during the movies. Viola!
I know they will be more than happy!
Cheers to Spring Break! What are your plans?
