This past weekend was relaxing and much needed. We went with the flow and stayed in. We did a lot of lounging around, listening to music, and watching Christmas cartoons. And, on Sunday, we made homemade pizzas with our Newair 12” Portable Electric Indoor and Outdoor Pizza Oven with Accessory Kit.
As a mother, I felt so much joy standing around in the kitchen while watching the boys make their own pizzas, talking, and enjoying each other’s company. Who am I kidding? They were battling it out about who would make the best pizza! Hahaha!

Unboxing, Accessories, and Setup
Before we got started with the pizza making, we unboxed the pizza oven. It came in a large box and packaged well. There were only a few accessories that needed to be assembled which included the pizza paddle and the baffle door. It took me less than five minutes to assemble them both.
Once the accessories were complete, we unfolded the legs, wiped out the pizza oven, and placed the pizza stone in. If you are unfamiliar with how the pizza stone works, it gives you the nice crispy crust of a traditional wood-fired pizza oven.
Once everything was set in place, we set the temperature to max for about 20 minutes to allow the oven to preheat and burn off anything foreign before we began cooking our pizzas.

Sleek and Attractive Design
But, let’s pause for a moment and talk about how sleek this design is. If our kitchen was just a bit bigger, I would not mind keeping this pizza oven out on the counter. I know that sometimes, appliances can seem bulky and you want to hide them away, but I feel like this is something that would be of use often in our home, so having it out wouldn’t bother me at all. Not to mention, it comes with a cover that allows you to cover it when not in use.
From our experience with this appliance and other Newair appliances, this pizza oven is a well-made, quality cooking appliance that is going to last for years as long as you take care of it.
Performance in an Indoor Setting
I appreciate that this pizza oven is for both, indoors and outdoors. For our first go-round, we made our pizzas indoors. This pizza oven is a quick and easy way to get that wood-fired pizza flavor right in the comfort of your own home (or in your own backyard).
The process was quick but also sent the smoke detector into a frenzy. With this said, I want to caution you to keep this in mind and have proper ventilation if you are going to use this indoors.

Making Pizzas
Overall, we made a series of three pizzas which included a veggie pizza, a pepperoni pizza, and a meat lovers pizza. Each pizza took approximately three minutes to fully cook. Even leaving the pizzas in a few seconds longer will have your pizza crisp and burnt. So, be mindful and do not walk away while your pizza is in the pizza oven.
I also want to share that we did use premade thin crusts for our pizzas which contributes to the amount of time that it took for them to fully bake. I’m sure that if you are making your own dough that is thicker than ours, you will indeed need more cooking time.

Taste Test and Family Reactions
After making several pizzas indoors, which were delicious, we decided that moving forward we would make this an outdoor family and friends activity. I would also adjust the heat to a lower temperature and cook the pizzas a little longer.
I explained to the boys that this would be the ideal backyard activity when they have friends over, or when we have outdoor family gatherings like we would often do before the pandemic.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I am very pleased with the Newair 12” Portable Electric Indoor and Outdoor Pizza Oven Model: NPOE12BK00. Assembly, cooking time, and clean up were all very simple and the pizzas tasted great. I’m looking forward to being able to host something for my sons’ friends so that they can all make pizzas and have a fun time outdoors with it.
