Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem Pizza Night | Unsponsored Review

Since having my daughter, I’ve noticed that I’m guilty of posting a ton of girly content (which I adore). However, I wanted to break out of the pink and pretty and switch gears to some early teen content with a review of Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT): Mutant Mayhem Pepperoni Pizza.

Adoration for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Let me start by saying, as a family, we enjoy all things TMNT. When I was growing up, I enjoyed watching the TMNT cartoons such Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Wanted: Bebop & Rocksteady and picking up a TMNT pie whenever I was allowed. In fact, you can read about that experience on the blog, 10 Things That Made Me Happy as a Child.

The adoration for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles never faded. Once I had children (my two boys), we continued enjoying all the new movie releases. And, when my youngest son turned four, we had him a TMNT party at home. I marveled in being able to be so creative with that party!

Fun DIY Ideas for Creating a TMNT Birthday Party

A few things that I made included a TMNT cake with the face of Leonardo, a few sewer top decorations out of foil pans, and even sat a TMNT on the side of the pizza! Of course, we had pizza for his TMNT-themed birthday party. Why wouldn’t we?

For goodness sakes! He’s even been in costume to skate with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

With the Ninja Turtles being such a huge part of our childhoods, you can imagine how excited I was to see the new Cowabunga Pizzas based on the recently released, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.

Now, I must admit, I wasn’t thrilled that the frozen pepperoni pizza was about $7 when a much larger one was about $4. But, hey, it’s the Ninja Turtles and it’s a promotion for the new movie, so of course it’s going to be a few bucks more.

To make up for the cost difference, there are some fun features on the box. Aside from the box being attractive and colorful, there’s a collectible cardboard cutout TMNT and a word search. It definitely comes in handy in the kitchen for impatient teens waiting on their pizza to finish.

Like most other pizzas, about 12 minutes at 400 degrees does the pizza justice. And, with a few sprinkles of basil and a side salad, you have a quick and easy meal!

Pizza Varieties

Now, I only chose to pick up the pepperoni because my boys enjoy pepperoni. But, keep in mind that there are other varieties including, the “Mac Attack,” which has macaroni and cheese as a topping, a “Supreme” pizza, a “Sausage & Pepperoni” pizza, and a classic “Cheese” pizza.

Final Thoughts

As much as I would like to describe how scrumptious the pizza was, I cannot since I wasn’t able to get a slice. The boys devoured it right out of the oven while it was piping hot and cheesy! With that in mind, I am going to conclude that it was either extremely tasty, or they were very hungry, or, it could have been both. Either way, that $7 spent was not a waste of money by a long shot.

Would I spend the money on the pizza, again? Yes, I would!
