This past weekend was a boatload of fun for my little girl and me. On Friday evening, we spent an hour at the local beauty school for their community Winter Wonderland event. On Saturday, after leaving my son’s basketball game, we popped into the local library for their Life-Size Candyland event.
On Sunday, we decided to stay in and do some fun activities. We started with winter-themed window clings which led to some additional sticker fun, and ended our night playing with Giggles Montessori Toys. And, what’s even better? You can choose either pink or blue. Of course, we chose pink!
This Giggles Montessori Toy set is important for us to have and engage with because when I was pregnant, I decided to learn more about the Montessori method of education because I wanted to incorporate this into our daughter’s lifestyle. In fact, while I was pregnant, I attended the Virtual Prego Expo and attended an hour-long training session on the Montessori method where I learned so much more and shared on the blog.

Bonus Cards and Visual Development
For example, I learned about the first colors that babies see and why using the colors black and white is important. If you are unfamiliar with the concept, it is because a black and white high contrast pattern helps to stimulate a newborn’s visual development.
So, when I opened the Giggles Montessori toy set and saw the bonus cards, I knew exactly what they were and how to use them. So, I immediately pulled out my paper cutter and cut the cards down to size so that we can use the flashcards with our daughter.

Sunday Funday Playdate with Video
As it got a little closer to bedtime, I laid the toys out on her bed. When she walked over, she showed a sense of wonder. She climbed on her bed and took her time picking up each one with her little hands and checking out what each one did.
She enjoyed tossing the cube off her bed and onto the floor laughing. My son would also switch and trade the toys out with her. She enjoyed the ring rattle and making each toy ring and sound. And, what’s interesting is that with the interlocking discs, she could get them apart but is still learning how to put them together. Our daughter is one year old. So, she is at the right age for this set which was expertly designed for the crucial 0-12 months developmental phase.
After about half an hour of playing on the bed, I got her ready for bed, sat her in her high chair with two of the toys, and let her play with them until it was time for her to go to sleep for the night.
