The Skin Changes We Must Accommodate Over Time

We’re all getting older and we all need to put in a little more work to make sure that we’re taking good care of ourselves as time goes along, whether it’s our hair, our teeth, our figure, and so on. Of course, our skin can get some of the worst punishment as we get older, too. If this is relatable, keep reading for some of the changes you might want to keep an eye out for and what you can do to beat them back.

Dullness and Tiredness

One of the earliest changes that start to show is the dull and tired skin. It becomes a lot more common over time, especially during the winter months. Wouldn’t you agree?

One of the biggest causes of dull skin is the buildup of dead skin that you might not be doing enough to combat. A good face peel can do wonders to remove dead skin and to hydrate and give nutrients to your skin, helping the layer beneath that dead skin become much more lustrous as a result.

In fact, over the summer, I sampled several facial masks and shared them on the blog and NewsBreak, as well.

Sagging and Volume Loss

One of the most visibly distressing problems for a lot of women, is that our skin begins to lose a lot of vital components that give it some volume and elasticity. Sadly, this can lead to sagging.

However, there are many ways to preserve firm skin for longer, such as by using creams that contain retinoids, vitamin E and C, and even consider dermal fillers, which have the short term benefit of plumping up the skin but can also help it absorb collagen over time, too.

Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Sagging tends to cause what we call the lines of rest, but there is another kind of line, typically the finer and more noticeable type which are known as lines of activity.

When it comes to things like crow’s feet and smile lines, there are creams that can specifically target those, but using the best botox injector can help to freeze the muscles that cause the movement that make those lines appear in the first place. From there, the skin can have some time to heal.

Have you considered botox yet?

Spots and Discoloration

For skin that is prone to sun damage, the effects can start to build up over time, leading to patches of skin that are a little darker, as well as concentrated sunspots.

Additionally, hormonal changes during and after pregnancy can lead to these skin changes, as well. If this happens to you, know that there are brightening creams that can help you reverse these changes to some degree. But understand, some may be permanent.

Loss of Moisture

All of the effects mentioned above are compounded by a general loss of moisture. This lack of moisture can start to lead to a more general proclivity for conditions associated with dry skin.

Aside from using moisturizing skin products, getting more hydration in your daily life can be important, too. Wouldn’t you agree?

Final Thoughts

Of course, the changes that affect your skin might differ depending on your skin type, so be sure to do your research on the best options for YOU. Always remember that.
