Thrifty Fall Style: $8 Goodwill Haul for My Little One’s Wardrobe

As bloggers and influencers, we often find ourselves focused on showcasing new clothing collaborations. However, in this post, I’d like to take a different approach and share an $8 fall Goodwill haul for my one-year-old daughter.

Over the weekend, I decided to visit Goodwill with the intention of finding whimsical Halloween decor. To my delight, I discovered that they were running a massive sale on infant clothing, with everything marked down by half – each item only a dollar. I got pretty excited and strolled through each aisle taking my time item by item picking out some of the most adorable pieces.

A Carefully Curated Three-Day Wardrobe Capsule

By the time we were done shopping, I had curated a charming three-day wardrobe capsule for my daughter. Here’s a breakdown of the items I found:

  • A versatile pair of H&M denim jeans (perfect for mixing and matching)
  • A black sleek Nike zip-up track jacket
  • A humourous black “Straight Out of Time-Out” long-sleeve top
  • A Carter’s sweet white onesie with pink trim reading “Mommy’s Baby Girl
  • An eye-catching Jumping Beans black and white animal print pull-over with pink accents and rhinestone buttons
  • A Falls Creeks grey “Cute Critter” sweatshirt
  • A refreshing mint green zip-up sweatshirt/hoodie

With these six items, I can effortlessly create four distinct looks:

Outfit #1

  • Pair of denim jeans (to complement other items in this haul)
  • Black sleek Nike zip-up track jacket
  • “Straight Out of Time-Out” long-sleeve top

With this outfit, I plan to add some cute black balls/bows to her hair and some black or white casual shoes.

Outfit #2

  • Pair of denim jeans
  • White onesie with pink trim reading “Mommy’s Baby Girl”
  • White animal print pull-over

With this outfit, I plan to add some cute pink bows to her hair and some white casual shoes.

Outfit #3

With this outfit, I plan to add some cute mint green bows to her hair and some white casual shoes.

Outfit #4

  • Pair of denim jeans
  • A Falls Creeks grey “Cute Critter” sweatshirt

With this outfit, I plan to add some cute black balls/bows to her hair and some white casual shoes.

Final Thoughts

Throughout this year with my daughter, I’ve come to appreciate that we don’t necessarily need a new outfit every day. Having a collection of thoughtfully curated pieces that can be mixed and matched and withstand a wash or two is more than sufficient.
