A few posts ago, I gave a heads up on us taking on a Chicago Urban Adventure Quest.
Well, guess what? It happened!
This past Sunday, we took a spontaneous day trip to the Windy City to spend half of the day exploring downtown on our adventure quest. It was a little gloomy, but we still had an awesome time!
How to Get Started
Prior to beginning your adventure quest, you or your team captain will need to create an account and pay online. Once you have completed that, you will choose your location and team name.
Our team was the Chicago Titans.
Parking and Beginning the Quest
The plan was to arrive downtown Chicago at approximately noon, park, and begin our quest. However, finding parking took forever. So, after several minutes of attempted parking, I eventually settled on a self-pay parking garage on the corner of Dearborn and Ontario.
Thankfully, we caught a weekend early bird special which allowed up to park for the day for $12. This was incredibly great because parking at Navy Pier is $25.
The only problem was that I lost track of how far I was from our starting point on Dearborn, so we ended up walking about a mile up the street just to get to our starting point.
So, be mindful in your parking planning, wear comfortable shoes, and bring along water.
Once you are ready to begin your quest, walk to your location, log into your quest, and begin.
How to Navigate Your Adventure
Once you are logged into your quest, you will be given clues on what you are looking for.
Think broad! Seriously.
This is a giant game board and you will need to use your critical thinking skills.
It wouldn’t hurt to have Google open in another tab on your phone, as well as a compass if you are directionally challenged.
Above is an example of our first question/clue, as well as the answer.
As you find your answers, you will enter them into the answer boxes and be awarded points. If you get stuck, there are two hints available to you.

What I Would Change
My team would not have consisted of my school-aged children. Oh my goodness! LOL! They were so excited to be in Chicago and to look at everything that was going on around that they were no help on the adventure quest.
They were playing right in front of my answer and I didn’t even notice it until later. LOL!
My plan is to return to Chicago in a few weeks and continue the quest with a group of friends. Or, try out the one in Indianapolis.
Imagine how much fun that will be!
