Why Having Live Music is Crucial After Covid

Over the past week, I spent some time in Las Vegas and experienced a variety of entertainment from live music at the Fremont Street Experience all the way to Elvis musical impersonators at the Las Vegas sign (just to name a few).

Can you spot him in the photo?

With that in mind, I want to share why having live music is crucial after COVID and where you can find live music and impersonators around Vegas.

What is Considered Live Music?

If you are unfamiliar with live music, it is simply a concert. Typically real people are playing real instruments and singing. Las Vegas is full of live music because it’s entertainment, and people go to Las Vegas for entertainment.

Two places that we witnessed and enjoyed live music and impersonators were at the Fremont Street Experience and the Las Vegas Sign.

The Fremont Street Experience, 425 Fremont Street, Las Vegas, NV

While on a Downtown Las Vegas Walking Tour through the Fremont Street Experience we witnessed live music and various impersonators. If you are unfamiliar with the Fremont Street Experience, it is a pedestrian plaza in the heart of Downtown Las Vegas.

In fact, it is one of the greatest performance streets in America with zip lines, live music on three stages, a canopy with the longest video screen in the US, fabulous neon signage everywhere, and historic casinos.

Many people have said that the Fremont Street Experience is the best place to enjoy free, live music in Las Vegas. In addition, they have a rotating schedule of talent every night to keep guests entertained.

Enjoying Live Music Helps to Reduce Stress

Enjoying live music is not only fun, but it helps us to reduce stress in our body. Who would have thought of live music being a benefit to our health?

Speaking of which…

Did you know that, according to USN, “attending a musical performance decreases the release of cortisol and other stress hormones, according to a study by researchers from Imperial College London published in February in the journal Public Health”? That’s right. This is something that we can all benefit from.

The Las Vegas Sign

The next interesting place where we caught some short live music was at the Las Vegas sign. That’s right! While we were on a stop to get pictures as a part of a tour to the Grand Canyon, we visited with an Elvis impersonator.

As we took photos as a part of our tour, he chatted with us. But, ultimately, his job as an impersonator is to take photos with visitors and play music. Impersonators can actually make a decent living wage when done correctly in Las Vegas.

As a matter of fact, the “salaries of Impersonators in Las Vegas, NV range from $15,575 to $70,088, with a median salary of $33,097”, according to Comparably.

Final Thoughts

So, if you are looking for live music and entertainment outside of casinos and shows, the Fremont Street Experience and random locations such as the Las Vegas sign may be places worth a visit.

Just remember, wherever you choose to go for live music (even after COVID) be responsible, wear masks while indoors, wash and sanitize your hands.
