World of Chocolate Museum and Cafe Review | National Truffle Day

A few weeks back, I flew to Orlando, Florida, and was able to visit the World of Chocolate Museum and Cafe. Since I haven’t yet shared that experience, why not share it today on National Truffle Day? Speaking of flying and food experiences, don’t forget to try tui flights food, a real culinary treat when it comes to inflight meals.

Now, let’s jump into National Truffle Day and the World of Chocolate Museum!

May 2 is National Truffle Day; a day to celebrate this sweet chocolate treat.

So, if you’re a chocolate lover and happen to be in Orlando, Florida, then you won’t want to miss the World of Chocolate Museum and Cafe.

But first, let me tell you this. I first learned about the World of Chocolate Museum and Cafe while searching Groupon for things to do in Orlando. Once I learned about it, I made a note to visit in case I had some extra time outside of the conference that I was attending. At that time, I did not purchase the coupon, but now, I wish that I did.

Admission to the World of Chocolate Museum is $17. You save a few dollars with Groupon.

World of Chocolate Museum and Cafe, 11701 International Dr. #400, Orlando, FL

The World of Chocolate Museum and Cafe is a must-visit for any chocolate enthusiast. As soon as you step inside, the aroma of chocolate hits you, and you’re transported into a world of all things chocolate.

In addition to the aroma, you are greeted with a variety of truffles neatly placed behind the glass. The menu includes classic truffle flavors like dark chocolate, milk chocolate, and hazelnut, as well as more adventurous options like raspberry champagne, and espresso. You’ll also see unique chocolate confections such as beautifully crafted, high heel chocolate shoes; which are beautiful, indeed.

Aside from the beautiful truffles, there is ice cream on another side of the counter, and wine offerings behind the counter. To the far right is a quaint and cozy cafe where you can enjoy your purchases and relax. And, as you enter the museum, there are a variety of chocolates, wines, and souvenirs for purchase.

Guided Museum Tour

The museum features a guided tour that takes you through the history of chocolate, from its early beginnings in Central America to its current status as one of the most beloved treats in the world. You’ll learn about the cultivation of cocoa beans, the manufacturing process, and the many different types of chocolate available today.

You’ll also see various machines that were used in the manufacturing process, along with an array of chocolate sculptures.

The guided tour ends with a sampling of six very different chocolates. You’ll get to taste chocolate from all over the world, including white, milk, and dark chocolate, as well as unique flavors like lavender, sea salt, and even bacon.

There were some that I enjoyed and others not so much. But, that’s okay, too. Once our tour group had finished our samples of chocolate, we were able to enjoy samples of authentic hot chocolate – which were warm, creamy, and delicious.

Always Tip Your Tour Guide

Our tour officially ended once we had completed our hot chocolate samples. As a note, there is a small tip jar as you exit. I would highly encourage you to bring a few dollars in cash to leave a tip.

Wine Tasting

The final portion of the visit for me and a few other ladies was a wine tasting. That’s right. In addition to the guided museum tour, you have the option to purchase a wine-tasting experience (once your museum tour has ended).

Wine Tasting and Chocolate Pairing is currently on sale for $29.90.

Here’s what to expect.

Once you’ve chosen your table in the cafe, you’ll be greeted by an employee who will bring you

a platter consisting of three neatly placed truffles and chocolates. You will then be served three various mini glasses of wine that pair with each chocolate that you taste.

I sat with a group of ladies from the guided tour and had a wonderful time. As we sampled each truffle we chatted about what we learned on the tour and how we were enjoying the pairings. It was such a lovely and memorable time.

Final Thoughts

Overall, a visit to the World of Chocolate Museum and Cafe is a must-do for any chocolate lover, especially on National Truffle Day. With its fascinating exhibits, delicious chocolate samples, and wine, it’s sure to be an unforgettable experience.
