As the week is coming to an end, I wanted to share some things that I have newly learned and/or relearned. When I say “relearned”, I am referring to the fact that I have heard or learned of this in the past, but perhaps had forgotten it. I want to share this list with you so that you can take something that resonates with you and use it to help advance your life in some way.
Keep in mind that this list is broken into three parts because it ended up being longer than I intended.
1 – We are what we think.
I know this and have known this. But, sometimes, life gets the best of me and I let the outside environment twist me upside down. Let me say this again. We are what we think we are.
If your thoughts are primarily positive, you will have positive outcomes and a positive life. If your thoughts are negative, you will have a negative life.

2 – When you ask for something, be ready to receive it.
So many times, we ask for things and then when it shows up, we aren’t ready. Let me ask you this. If everything you wanted showed up at your doorstep at this very moment, would you be ready for it?
If you wouldn’t be ready for it, fix your life in a way that when what you have asked for arrives, you are ready for it.
For books on this topic, here are my favorites that I’ve shown on my Instagram feed multiple times over the past few years.

- As a Man Thinketh
- The Power of the Subconscious Mind
- Quantum Success
3 – When you ask for something, be specific.
Okay, I have been wanting to do more luxury-style partnerships. I wasn’t specific when I made my ask and began to journal about it. A few days later, I was offered a luxury partnership that I politely declined because it was not anything that I had an interest in or could inspire others to have an interest in. After that happened, I began to journal about specific partnerships of interest.
I want to make sure that the collaborations are something that I can show you that will help advance your life.
Another situation happened the next day. I was interested in attending an exclusive event in New York. Before paying, I wanted to apply for the scholarship to cover the cost of the ticket. I journaled that I had received the ticket and felt certain that I would.
A month later, which was a few days ago, I received an email stating that I had received the ticket. I was grateful and happy knowing that I had received the ticket.
Unfortunately, I declined because the email came much too late for me to put together travel and lodging arrangements, get care for the boys, and take off from work.
When I journaled, I should have been specific and asked for all of those things to be effortlessly arranged. I didn’t. So, just be sure that you are specific in your ask and be ready to receive.
