3 Reasons to Visit Florida

They call it the Sunshine State, so before we even begin, we have identified one great reason to visit Florida. Now, let’s think past COVID. It’s a state that offers wall to wall sunshine, with the odd rainfall thrown in for good measure.

Florida has something to appeal to everyone, so we think it should definitely be on your vacation wish list. If it’s not already on there, then here are our 3 reasons to visit Florida.

The Wildlife

Florida is a tropical climate, home to coral reefs and swamps, and as such it has some fascinating wildlife to spot.

It is common to see alligators basking on river banks and canal sides, and you might even spot the odd one on the side of the road when you visit. Then there are the manatees, opossums, raccoons, sea turtles and armadillos, all of which are commonly found here.

The birds are beautiful and attract thousands of keen bird spotters every single year. Whether you are on the lookout for a Mangrove Cuckoo, a Snail Kite or a Short-tailed Hawk, it is possible that you could spot them all here.

The Everglades National Park, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Three Sisters Springs are three great places to start if you are keen to visit Florida and take in the wildlife.

The Cities & Accommodations

Whether you are seeking the beaches of Clearwater and Daytona, and it’s fair to say that Florida has some beautiful beaches, or you are drawn to the hustle and bustle of Miami, Florida has so much to see in its cities.

Orlando is probably the top tourist destination, offering some wonderful theme parks and plenty to see up and down International Drive.

Elsewhere, it’s worth hiring a rental boat. Miami has so many beautiful ocean front properties, including the famous Millionaire’s Row that it would be a shame not to see if from the water, as well as exploring on foot.

You could even consider properties from Westgate. Westgate’s CARE Program for cleaner hotels offers properties with affordable, clean hotels and resorts. These resorts are important during COVID because they bring together the highest standard of updated housekeeping policies, augmented room cleaning procedures, social distancing, and curbside check-in options, just to name a few. Doing this allows a reduction in the rate of exposure to daily viral and bacterial elements we all come in contact with during our travel journeys.

The Attractions

Now, we can’t talk about Florida and not mention the attractions, can we? The theme parks are world famous, as children dream of visiting Disney World and meeting the mouse himself.

There are four parks in Disney World, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, and then there are two water parks and numerous onsite hotels.

Make no mistake about it, Disney World is huge, about the size of San Francisco. You could visit Florida and only ever see Disney property! But if you love your theme parks that would be a mistake as you can also go to two Universal parks, SeaWorld, Legoland and Busch Gardens, just to name a few of the biggest ones.

In addition to visiting some of the biggest and best theme parks in the world, you might enjoy Discovery Cove, helicopter flights, the Kennedy Space Centre and Central Florida Zoo. There is plenty to see and do, there really is something for all of the family.

What do you think, could Florida be a vacation destination for you? If you have been, what did you like best about it?
