4 Touristy Things To Do in Indianapolis, Indiana

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to go to one central location, select the city and/or state, and print off a quick list of things to do in that area? Well, that’s what my aim is to do moving forward.

So, in today’s post, you’ll briefly read about 4 Touristy Things To Do in Indianapolis, Indiana. But, more importantly, you can print the free transcript below! Yayyy!

#1 Indianapolis Cultural Trail

The Indianapolis Cultural Trail is an eight-mile long path for pedestrians and cyclists to explore much of downtown Indianapolis. In addition to exploring downtown, the path connects six cultural districts including Massachusetts Avenue, Fountain Square, The Canal & White River State Park, Indiana Avenue, the Wholesale District, and Broad Ripple.

#2 Indiana State Soldiers and Sailors Monument

The Indiana State Soldiers and Sailors Monument is the largest outdoor memorial and the largest of its kind in Indiana coming in at 284 feet and 6 inches. The monument is built in the center of downtown and intersects Meridian Street and Market Street.

In addition, the Col. Eli Lilly Civil War Museum is located on the lower level and the Observation Deck can be accessed by climbing up 330 steps or by taking the elevator to step 290 and walk the remaining 40 steps.

#3 NCAA Hall of Champions

NCAA Hall of Champions is a museum, exhibition center, and conference center which is located downtown Indianapolis at 700 W. Washington Street.

According to The NCAA Hall of Champions, it seeks to provide a greater understanding of the NCAA, including its membership of more than 1,000 colleges and universities and over 400,000 student-athletes.” So, if you or your children are sports lovers and/or college sports lovers, this is definitely the place for you!

#4 Rent a Bike on the Canal

Various bike rentals are available downtown Indianapolis. For example, you could rent a day pass for the Pacers Bikeshare for $8 plus an additional $2 for every 30 minutes you have the bike checked out. Or, you could opt for a family bike for closer to $30 an hour.
