It is much easier to overlook the health of your teeth if you are overlooking the rest of your health. Make the commitment to self-care! 

2. Replace Your Brushes

Depending on your toothbrush, you may need to replace your brush more frequently than others do. If you refuse to buy anything but dollar toothbrushes, be prepared to replace your toothbrush more often

Foods that are high in sugar create issues for teeth. Many sweets are high in acid, which contributes to the wearing down of tooth enamel. Without cosmetic dentistry, repairing tooth enamel is extremely difficult, so do what you can to avoid these issues. 

Stick to foods that reduce inflammation for better teeth. If you’re an emotional eater and gravitate to junk food, try to increase ways to manage stress so you avoid damaging your teeth. If you eat acidic foods during the day, consider bringing a travel toothbrush with you to brush away any build-up quickly. 

6. Use Mouthwash Consistently

Brushing your teeth is not enough to keep the bacteria in your mouth in check. Use mouthwash regularly to achieve ideal oral health. You want to reduce the bacterial buildup in your mouth, and that includes the bacteria living on the insides of your cheeks. Brushing your teeth alone is not enough! 

Make sure you use a mouth rinse at least once every day, but ideally, twice a day as part of your daily oral hygiene routine.
