80s and 90s Family Dinner Party & Watch Ya Mouth Game 90s Edition Game Review

A few years back, my boys and I spent a fun afternoon playing the Watch Ya Mouth Game 90s Edition (check it out) and enjoying pizza. It was such a great family bonding experience because they knew very little about the 90s. It allowed me to tell them all about how things used to be. Although they were able to listen to all that I had to say, it’s sad that they will never truly experience those times.

Do you remember when kids could be kids and there was no social media? I mean, really. The closest thing to social media was running home after school to go to the computer room to “dial up’ AOL and hear, “You’ve got mail!”. Oh, how I miss those times.

80s and 90s – Themed Family Dinner Party

Anyway, after that experience, I decided that it would be a great idea to host a themed 80s and 90s family dinner party – which I did. So, if you are waiting for someone to tell you, let me be the one.

It’s time for you to sprinkle a little nostalgia into your life and host a fun 80s and 90s-themed family dinner party, especially with the holidays right around the corner.

To get you geared up, I’m providing a quick review of the game Watch Ya Mouth Game 90’s Edition along with a few tips below to help create some awesome memories.

And, if the 80s and 90s aren’t your thing, have no worries, Watch Ya Mouth has an array of games with various themes such as the Family Edition and the NSFW Adult Edition for 18 and up.

Watch Ya’ Mouth 90s Edition

For starters, this game will take you back to a brighter, more simple time when Scrunchies were cool and Marky Mark was a musician. This game is a lot of fun for myself and my friends because we lived through the 90’s. You know, when Caboodles and clear phones were cool!

“Watch Ya’ Mouth: 90s Edition combines the gameplay you’ve come to know and love with the nostalgia of all things the 90s. Bangin’ phrases such as “Billy Ray’s Mullet” + “Gameboy” + “Folding Paper Love Notes” will bring it all back for a night of dope fun!”

3-10 players wear cheek retractors and speak out 90s phrases while teammates guess what they are saying. But, have no worries. Phrases are all family-friendly. Cards are thick, laminated, and durable and printed in full color to ensure years of fun.

Contents Include:

  • 200+ family-safe phrases that are totally 90s
  • 10 Multicolored Mouthpieces (6 Regular and 4 Small)
  • 1 60-Second Sand Timer
  • Instructions

FDA and CE Certified Mouthpieces

This game comes with 10 dental-grade mouthpieces (medium and small) that are dishwasher-safe. Or, if you’re feeling nostalgic, they can be sterilized in boiling water like in the good old days.

Mouthpieces are both FDA and CE-certified; and designed carefully to balance strength and comfort. While this game is great for most ages, children who are ages 8 and up may have more fun and be better able to enjoy the game.

Tips to Make the Night Memorable

Now, that we covered the basics of the main game, let’s chat about some extras.

Create an 80s and 90s Theme

While you could just whip out the game on the tabletop, I would challenge you to be more intentional and create more of a fun and engaging atmosphere. Consider themed posters, more themed games such as those below, and props to fully embrace the culture.

For us, I shopped our house and also placed a quick order on Amazon for some themed pieces to enhance the night such as this 80s Party Backdrop Decoration Supplies Set.

Create a 90s Music Playlist

To fully immerse yourself and your guests, create a playlist featuring popular songs during those decades.

Create an Enjoyable Menu

Aside from decorations and games, be sure to create an enjoyable menu of food items, and if you can find some treats that come from that era. If Ninja Turtle pies were still out, I sure would have bought several to have as take-home treats.

Wear 80s and 90s Attire

What would a party like this look like without people dressing up? I had a lot of fun wearing colorful nails, jelly bracelets, and a fun pink scrunchie!

Capture the Moment with Photos

Lastly, be sure to capture the memories of your night, and if you can use a Polaroid for instant photos.

Final Thoughts

Whether you choose to host an 80s and 90s-themed party like we did or not, Watch Ya Mouth Games has a variety of games to choose from to help make your next family dinner or game night a ton of fun!
