A Disney Princess-Themed Day Trip: A Dream Deferred, Part 1

A few weeks back, our plans for a magical Disney Princess-themed day trip were laid out meticulously, every detail crafted to princess perfection; only things didn’t work out as planned. Life decided to sprinkle a dash of reality into our little fairy tale of a day.

Sunday Morning

I woke up filled with excitement at the thought of my daughter and I wearing our beautifully curated Disney Princess-themed dresses to the 2024 Tour of Disney Princess The Concert. Our dresses had been picked out weeks prior to the event.

For myself, I planned on wearing my blue Natalia dress from Jessake which was the ideal dress for this occasion. And, for my daughter, I bought her a beautiful lavender dress which was very similar to mine.

To get the morning started, I made a lovely cup of coffee in an adorable pink Disney Princess Icons Ceramic Camper Mug that I found on Amazon from the Silver Buffalo Store. Silver Buffalo is a trend-setting manufacturer and distributor of licensed home decor and housewares.

The cup itself adorned with iconic Disney princess imagery was the perfect segue into our Disney Princess-Themed day. This camper mug is a beautiful pink color and holds an impressive amount of 20 ounces. It is very modern and includes references to Cinderella, Ariel, Jasmine, Moana, and other favorites that would be performing in the Disney Princess The Concert

However, as the morning continued to unfold things took a bit of a turn and my little princess began to feel a bit under the weather, which led to the decision to forego the concert. While I would have loved to attend, it made sense to stay home and tend to my little one. Wouldn’t you agree?

With the event being a traveling concert, there are no more shows within close proximity to us. However, if you are interested the event, here’s what you should know.

The production features Broadway performers appearing as themselves while the animation shows on the screen and lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission. The Broadway performers are not dressed as Disney princesses which is very important to know. Instead, they are dressed in very stunning, princess-style gowns.

Final Thoughts

Although our Disney Princess-themed day trip didn’t unfold as envisioned, it’s okay. There is another princess-themed event on the horizon which we will likely attend, so stay tuned for Part 2.

As for the Disney Princess concert, while we missed the event in Rosemont, Illinois, the concert is still on tour from now until the end of April.
