The Best Advice You Could Ever Get About Taking A Pink Jeep Tour

Last year, while on our Southwestern tour, the boys and I took our first adventure tour called the Red Rock Canyon Adventure Tour by PINK Jeep Tours out of Las Vegas, Nevada. We had such an amazing time that I want to give you the best advice you could ever get about taking a Pink Jeep Tour.

What is a Pink Jeep Tour?

Pink Jeep Tours provide one-of-a-kind, unique adventure tours through Sedona, Arizona, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Grand Canyon, Arizona in pink jeeps!

Adventure tours range in cost, but can be found on the Pink Jeep Tours website.

At our scheduled time, we were picked up from our hotel at Circus Circus Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip in the Pink Jeep Tours Shuttle bus and taken on a short drive through Las Vegas to Red Rock Canyon.

It is hot and dry. Stay hydrated. Bring your own water, or water will be provided to you. Also, with the sun blazing, wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and/or a hat with a visor. While this is an amazingly fun experience. It is important to keep in mind that you also need to protect yourself from the elements.

Pink Jeep Tour Guides

After completing our short drive through Las Vegas, we then met our tour guide, Sandy and transferred to a signature, open-air, pink Jeep Wrangler to check out the Visitor Center at Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and tour the Rocky Gap portion of the tour.

Keep in mind that although you are paying for the basic experience, your tour guides are the ones who will make the experience worth while. Engage in conversation. Allow them to take photos for you. Use your manners. And, last but not least, please, tip your tour guides. Your tip doesn’t have to be astronomical, but a few bucks and a “thank-you” goes a long way.

Your tour guide will be very knowledgeable regarding the tour, so listen up and pay attention. We were able to explore areas that many outsiders can’t get to unless they hike and/or know the area. So, with us being from Illinois, there would have been no way I would have known the area and how to get around. They are highly trained adventure guides who spend three months in training to give you the best tour possible!

For example…

Did you know that the Rocky Gap Road was once a pioneer trail? I didn’t until I met our tour guide, Sandy. She also pointed  color-shifting, fossilized sand dunes at the famous Calico Hills and spent time at Keystone Thrust, a 3,000 foot sandstone wall with visible ancient pictographs

Inside Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center

Our first stop was the Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center, where my son took a liking to the animal puppets inside of the Gift Shop. Outside of the Gift Shop, the boys took photos at the photo stand, printed souvenir coins, learned about dinosaur tracks, and received passport activity books. I on the other hand, fell in love with the handmade, wooden, native figurines.

Inside the Visitor Center are so many activities. Step outside of your comfort zone and explore the Visitor Center. There is a lot to learn.

Outside Red Rock Canyon Visitor Center

Once outside of the Visitor Center, we were amazed at how much we learned about the tortoise habitat, landscape, and wildlife.

Again, outside there is a lot to learn, as well as amazing scenery. Take your time. Read through some of the information posted for visitors, ask questions, and capture not only photos, but memories.

Followed by our time spent at the Visitor Center, we headed out to explore Red Rock Canyon’s interesting horticulture and landscape facts, along with ancient pictographs. This included not only riding in the open air jeep, but also doing some walking, as well.

Be prepared and stay safe by wearing comfortable clothing and shoes.

Check Your Attitude and Stay Safe

Speaking of which, it is extremely important to arrive with a fun, adventurous, and open mind because you will be learning all while having fun. In addition, your body will be somewhat challenged, as you walk through places you probably haven’t experienced before or as you are trying to maintain your composure while holding on tightly as you journey up some of the rockiest roads in an open air jeep.

Traveling with Small Children in Nevada

Finally, if you are traveling with children like I always do, the Nevada law requires children to be properly secured in a car seat until they are at least six years old and 60 lbs. Unfortunately, if your children are 18 months or younger, they are not permitted on this tour.

In Summary

We enjoyed every bit of it! If you are considering a Pink Jeep Adventure Tour, check out the site and choose the tour that best fits the needs of you and your family. Things to keep in mind include the following but aren’t limited to arriving with an open mind, staying hydrated and protecting yourself from the elements, as well as remembering to tip your tour guides.
