You know I absolutely adore celebrating national days! And, a few days ago was no exception! August 5th was National Blogger Day, a perfect occasion to reflect on my blogging journey that started with the platform that revolutionized the internet – “Blogger.”
Getting Started with Blogger
Over 10 years ago, I started writing as an Indianapolis Affordable Makeup Examiner. My job was to cover stories in the beauty industry in and around the Indianapolis area. Writing for Examiner was a learning experience where I gained insights into the beauty industry, evergreen content, and the art of taking crisp, clear, and centered photos. But it was also during this time that I realized my passion for writing, blogging, and my desire to do things my way.

In January 2014, Examiner.com announced that it had been acquired by AEG and eventually came to a close. I knew it was time to explore new possibilities. That’s when I made my debut on the blogging scene, just like many others did over ten years ago, by creating my very first blog on Blogger, titled “Just Brennon.”
The following year, I ventured into another blog called “Just Brennon, Again,” where I continued to share my life experiences and connect with a wider audience. I appreciated how user-friendly Blogger was and how it kept tabs on your posts in a compact column to the right of the page.
There was also a neat feature that allowed you to be able to scroll through other blogs and check out what others were writing about. However, after two years on Blogger, I was ready to take the next step and purchased my own domain.
A Decade of Blogging
Now, as I celebrate over a decade of blogging, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude for this milestone. It speaks volumes about dedication, passion, and unwavering commitment.
Over the years, “Just Brennon Blog” has transformed into a captivating hub, a space that offers inspiration, entertainment, and a sense of community on various topics like travel, beauty, lifestyle, and more.

However, this journey hasn’t always been smooth sailing. There were challenges, moments of doubt, and times when inspiration seemed nonexistent. But each hurdle only made the blog and myself stronger and more determined to continue this beautiful blogging adventure.
The Blogging Community Including Brands
As I reflect over the years, I would have to say that one of the most rewarding aspects of blogging has been the connections made within the community including brands.
Building bonds with fellow bloggers and various brands has truly been an enriching experience. “Just Brennon Blog” has become a virtual meeting ground, welcoming readers, fellow bloggers, and brands such as Pure Micronutrients into a warm and inviting space. The power of the written word and photos that help to tell the stories have touched hearts and inspired minds time and time again.

As I sit here, reminiscing over the past decade of my blogging journey that began with “Blogger,” I am filled with a deep sense of joy and accomplishment. Today, on National Blogger Day, I not only celebrate the platform that kick-started my passion for writing and blogging but also cherish the beautiful memories created during this journey.
I am grateful for the opportunity to share my life experiences, thoughts, and passions with readers from all corners of the world, and look forward to continuing to do so one blog post at a time.
