Although we are smack in the midst of Quarter 2, I still want to give a Quarter 1 Blog review…
Overview of Just Brennon Blog – 10th Year Blogiversary!
If you are new, welcome! If you have been around for some time, thank you.
Just Brennon Blog is a lifestyle blog that continues to document my life and goes where I go. I started this blog in March of 2014, but also ran a blog on Blogger back then. Feel free to read my very first post on this blog; Getting Started.
Posts on my blog include a variety of personal experiences but also include inspirational lifestyle topics including product reviews, family-friendly activities, travel, and social commentary.
My ultimate goal is to provide a space where I can share what I learn with others and provide helpful information and perspectives to any reader who comes across this blog. Please subscribe if you haven’t. I want to build a solid subscriber list to begin giveaways again!
Finally, I strive to keep my tone casual and relatable, with a mix of humor and sincerity. I mean really, who wants to read flat and boring content all the time? Heck! Not me!
Hot Blog Topics!
During the first quarter of this blog, I shared some adorable Mommy & Me content featuring our new little girl. I’m so grateful to finally have my own little girl.
As I am building the bond with my own daughter, however, I am intentionally continuing to build my relationship with my own mother. With this in mind, you may enjoy reading about our Enchanted Fairies Road Trip to Aurora, Illinois about six weeks ago.
Aside from Mommy & Me content, there continues to be tons of content focused on careers. The reason is simple. I’m a professional Career Counselor working hard to understand, apply, and share how digital marketing and AI play a significant role in my work in Career Services. Hence, my recent Google Digital Marketing and E-Commerce certificate – which I have been talking a lot about.
In fact, I just returned from the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches Conference in Orlando, Florida. And, my goodness, did I learn a lot! If you ever want to chat about your career journey, feel free to email me at brennonhightowe@gmail.com. Or, subscribe to the blog and comment that you want more career inspo and advice!
Finally, fashion, beauty, and home appliance reviews aren’t going anywhere. I enjoy checking out new products and sharing what I love about them and what you can expect from them.
For example, I recently partnered with an Amazon brand, Ekouaer, and did my first actual live stream using OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) over the weekend. Feel free to check out all the clothing sets sponsored by the brand.
In fact, I’m wearing the Ekouaer Women’s Pajama Set 3 Piece Lounge Set Drawstring Side Tank Top Long Pant Tracksuit Sweatsuit in this post and just finished a collaboration with Grace & Stella who have some awesome beauty products. In addition to this, Newair has stolen my heart. Each Newair home appliance that I have reviewed never fails to amaze!
So, again, fashion, beauty, and home appliance reviews aren’t going anywhere.
Achievements and Milestones
Based on all that I have already shared, I think it would be fair to say that completing the Google Digital Marketing and E-Commerce career certificate was certainly an achievement and milestone!
I have had this written down in my planner all year and after hard work and dedication, it came to fruition. In fact, I had a personal solo celebration when I completed it. Shhh. I treated myself to lunch and a margarita at a Mexican restaurant. Ohhhwweeee! It was delicious and well-deserved because some of those damn tests are hard! Just a heads up!
Lessons Learned
I am also proud of myself that I have still been able to maintain this blog throughout having a new little bundle of joy. Time management is definitely a skill that I have honed in on more and more.
So, I would have to say that my lesson learned is more about time management and that I can manage a professional career and family and still make time to continue doing what I enjoy most (blogging) – if I manage my time appropriately.
As a note of encouragement to anyone wondering how are they going to get things done, please remember to use your tools such as planners and to-do lists, making sure that those with the highest priority go first. And, also, don’t be afraid to delegate tasks and ask for help!
Goals for Q2:
Again, although I’m wiring this in the midst of Q2, there are still some goals to work towards for the remainder of the quarter which include the following.
- Begin building my subscriber list – all over again.
- Share the details of our upcoming themed travel, as travel guides.
- Host a giveaway.
- Blogiversary photo shoot.
