Getting Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Comfort Zone

If you have been around the blog for awhile, you may have seen a lot of posts about getting out of your comfort zone, or at least expanding it. Why? Because it is understood that getting out of our comfort zone is where growth happens, especially if we want to improve our lives in any way.

So, if you are looking for a few pointers on how to get started on getting out of your comfort zone, read on below.

Camping

Start Small

Getting out of your comfort zone can be uncomfortable and unfamiliar. It may even seem scary at first to many. Therefore, it’s important to start small and remember this is a process and does not happen overnight.

By starting small and staying consistent in your experiences, you are bound to begin to feel more and more confident. Some experiences that you may want to begin with could include – perhaps, visiting a new restaurant or bar, or even a friend’s house that you have never visited before. You may even consider a day trip or a park in a nearby town.

With whatever you choose to embark upon, just remember that you don’t have to make drastic changes; especially all of a sudden.

Try New Things

Try New Things

I’m very big on trying new things. I honestly believe that you should try something once, and if you like it or love it, great! Perhaps you just found out something new about yourself.

On the other hand, if you try something and you don’t like it. That’s okay, too! You tried it and learned that it wasn’t a great fit for you. Simply move on to something else.

I would get a lot of questions here on the blog about my experiences with fishing and camping since more men than women relate to the experiences.

But, really, it’s all quite simple.

My dad introduced me to fishing at a young age and camping in my 30’s. I simply got out of my own way, expanded my comfort zone, tried them, and ended up enjoying them. Now, it’s safe to say that these are some of my favorite outdoor hobbies.

So, if you’ve been wanting to try a new sport or hobby like fishing, go ahead and go for it. The very worst that can happen is that you learn that that particular hobby or activity is not for you.

Get Support

As I explained earlier, my dad was the person who introduced me to fishing and camping. He became my support during these experiences and adventures. I learned early on from this that having support during these times made the experiences a lot more meaningful and memorable.

So, if you are uncomfortable about starting something new. Grab a friend or family member to show up and support you. The right people will always be supportive and helpful.

Final Thoughts

Getting out of your comfort zone is not something that needs to be drastic or done alone. Simply start small, try a few new things, and get support along the way and you will be well on your way to improving your lifestyle experiences.
