This past week was a “tend to your wellness” week. I do not want to claim it as a sickly week – as we all know that words are powerful. However, there were dentist and doctor visits on the schedule for all of us. Thankfully, everyone is feeling a lot better.
So, I’m going to keep this post moving along with the highlights of this past week including our 2020 Family Bucket List, National Popcorn Day, National Pie Day, new incense, our Love You to the Moon and Back tablescape, and a day trip to Bloomington-Normal, Illinois to hangout with my nine-year-old which also included a stop in Five Below and some traveling on Route 66 in Illinois. Yassss! I love Route 66!
Read more about our Route 66 adventures.
Whew! It was a productive and fun week. I am so grateful to have incorporated some fun into our past week. Sometimes, we can take life so damn serious that we forget about the love, joy, fun, and playfulness of life.
So, if you’re interested in having a peek at what the week was like for us and to give you a little inspiration for February, keep reading for all of the juicy details.
2020 Family Bucket List
For starters, I want to talk a little bit about our 2020 Family Bucket List. We haven’t had one of these in a while. It’s probably been since 2014. You can read all about the 50 something things we had on our bucket list that year – which was way too much, by the way. Nevertheless, we accomplished a great deal of those things. It was definitely a fun year!
52 Week Savings Challenge
This year, however, we scaled things back a bit to include about 13 things ranging from depositing money in our savings account weekly and following a 52 Week Savings Challenge together as a family, all the way to family movie night, going to Skyzone, taking swimming lessons, and Universal Studios – just to name a few of the things.
Family Movie Night
Wonderfully enough, we had our family movie night over the weekend. Really, it was just my youngest son and I curled up on the couch watching the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie (at his request) and 2018 Mowgli – Legend of the Jungle as we ate popcorn and apple pie in honor of National Popcorn Day and National Pie Day. Both of which he wanted to celebrate, so we did. It was such a cool family thing to do.
Skyzone Trampoline Park
In addition to crossing off Family Movie Night, we were also able to cross off Skyzone, another trampoline park.
Groupon had an amazing deal for 90 minutes for about $11. On top of the discount, I had a Groupon credit which made the visit extremely affordable.
The Alchemist & Unfu*k Yourself
While he jumped to his heart’s content, I continued reading more of Unfu*k Yourself. I’m in the midst of Chapter 4 now. I should be finished by now, but I took a pause from the book to read The Alchemist – A Fable About Following Your Dreams.
Let me tell you, that was a really good read, and I know why Macklemore said it in their song, Growing Up.
[Macklemore:]
“I recommend that you read “The Alchemist”
Listen to your teachers, but cheat in calculus
Tell the truth, regardless of the consequence
And every day, give your mama a compliment”
If you haven’t read it, order it, and read it cover to cover. I’ll be doing a review sometime soon of the book.
Anywho, we have already been able to cross off two things from our Bucket List including Family Movie Night and Skyzone. Other things will come in time as we continue to journey throughout 2020.
New Incense to Attract Money!
A few weeks back, I received a lot of my favorite metaphysical goodies, but unfortunately the store was out of my incense that I use to attract financial abundance. So, I ended up ordering a pack from Amazon.
When the package arrived, there were several boxes of incense that are used to attract clients when in business, money, good fortune, etc.
Since I was unfamiliar with the variety, I did a quick Youtube search and found how other people use the various incense and ended up learning some new things; which is always a plus. My intentions are to create an updated Youtube video on the variety of money incense that I received.
Later in the month of February, I’ll have a post dedicated to further discussing the ways I use incense to attract the things I want in life, especially money. I’ll also talk about some of my favorite books on financial literacy and financial wealth.
Love You to the Moon and Back Birthday & Valentine’s Day Tablescape
With my birthday Friday and Valentine’s Day around the corner, I couldn’t wait to create a tablescape that was versatile for both. So, instead of getting decor that read, Happy Valentine’s Day, I went with the theme, Love You to the Moon and Back.
There are so many darling things out in stores that read, Love You to the Moon and Back. I even spotted a card at the post office, that was so adorable (above).
Here’s a peek at the dining room table and DIY wreath. More details to come in a later post...

Final Thoughts
This past week was definitely an interesting one. I am thankful for all the great moments that were shared, whether I spoke about them in this post or not.
My hope is that I was able to inspire you to incorporate more love, joy, fun, and playfulness into your life; whether it is creating a Family Bucket List, curling up to movies and popcorn (or even pie), allowing your children the freedom to just be them and be happy, and/or simply incorporating more music and books into your life.
