With so many of my posts being about personal growth and development this year, I wanted to switch things up a bit and create a post based on some past reader feedback. At a particular time, I was asked to do a nail review of my favorite nails. I thought about the review and occasionally took photos with the intent to complete it, but never did.
So, today, I am here to give you a review of my favorite fashion nails by Sassy + Chic that I wear quite often.
Yes, I confess. I wear “press on” nails. Can you see them?
Want to know something else?
I get them from Dollar Tree for $1. Each pack comes with 12 nails which is enough for both hands. No glue is included, therefore, I purchase a certain hypo-allergenic nail glue from a local Beauty Supply store that has a very strong hold.
Fun & Easy to Apply?
Creating the look is exactly what the package says, “Fun & Easy to Apply”.
Step One – To apply the nails, I wash my hands and nails, trim them down if needed, and do a quick buff on them to make sure that the nail sticks when the glue is applied.
Step Two – After I buff my nails, I place a nail on each finger to ensure the proper fit, add a few drops of glue, and hold the nail in place for a few seconds. Viola!
That’s it.
Mixed Reviews on Fashion Nails?
I’ve read mixed reviews online about the nails. But, I can honestly tell you, I love them. They are my go-to nails and I keep them stocked up, so that I am always ready. I’ve even purchased an assortment of the holidays nails that worked out great, as well.

Personal Nail Care In Between Applications
I do not wear the nails day in and day out. I typically wear them for five days at a time and take a week break before applying them again. In between wearing them, I make sure to take care of my nails by keeping them clean, trimmed, and polished with Sally Hansen’s Hard As Nails.
My grandmother (may she rest in peace) swore by Sally Hansen’s Hard As Nails. She would always tell me to keep several coats on my nails to make sure they stay hard and strong whether I was wearing my nails painted or not. So, that’s what I do.
5 Reasons Why I Prefer “Press On” Fashion Nails
Lastly, I want to share why I wear press on nails. I know so many women who swear against them and I knew a select few that swear by them, like me.Nevertheless, here are four reasons why I prefer these fashion nails over professional acrylic nails.
- I do not like sitting for long periods of time in the nail salon, especially during prom and holidays.
- I do not like how rough the process of applying acrylic nails can be.
- Even if I can afford acrylic nails, I do not like having to constantly spend that much for upkeep and maintenance of nails. I would rather put that money towards a weekend adventure.
- When I am ready for the nails to be off, I want them off. I do not want to have to go to the nail shop for a nail soak to have them taken off; just to have them try and upsell me on something else that I do not want.
- Lastly, I run an online blog, which means, I am constantly on the computer and have to type. And, quite frankly, typing with acrylic nails on is a pain in the ass.
Final Thoughts
Wearing Sassy + Chic Fashion Nails allows me to have a polished and finished nail look without having to sit in a nail shop and pay large amounts of money that I would prefer to spend elsewhere.
