A few months back, I shared on the blog that the Harlem Globetrotters 2024 World Tour presented by Jersey Mike’s was coming to the State Farm Center at the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois and we were excited to be able to go again!
Only this time, family obligations were high, so instead of a family night out, the evening turned into a Girls’ Night Out! Thank you US Family Guide and the Harlem Globetrotters for such a fun night with such lively music.
Arrival took place in enough time to grab some concessions and get seated before the game started – which was certainly a plus.
The Harlem Globetrotters
The fun part of the girls’ night was that not everyone had been or had knowledge of the Harlem Globetrotters. So, if you are unfamiliar with the Harlem Globetrotters, they are an American exhibition basketball team that showcases their incredible ball-handling wizardry, rim-rattling dunks, trick shots, hilarious comedy, and unequaled fan interaction!
In fact, last year in 2023, they had their first Globetrotter, Dazzle Kido? from Poland performing. He is the first Globetrotter ever to be discovered at one of the team’s pre-game Magic Pass events. How interesting is that?

Fun Moments During the Game
Another fun part of the evening was when the Globetrotters began with their water tricks and began heading toward the audience. Of course, a group of laughing girls would be the target. Who would have thought that bucket wasn’t filled with water, but with confetti? Haha!
To add to the entertainment, there was a baby crawling race. How adorable!
A Change in Tradition
Going to the Harlem Globetrotters game each year has become a family tradition for the boys and me. We always have such a fun time when we go, but it was a nice change of pace to make it a girls’ night out. And, as always, Globie and Big G, the mascots are always entertaining.
As the game ended, we decided to leave as the younger crowd headed toward the court for autographs.
