I’m back!

Hey! Hey! I’m back!

I took a much needed hiatus this year because I needed time to live instead of literally worrying about what I was going to write about. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve still been writing, but, I’ve been writing in one of my many journals or notebooks. And, I still take millions of photos (usually with my jinky cell phone), but just not with the same intentions. Instead of trying to capture the best shot with the best lighting and best pose with my camera. I shoot to capture the moment. You know…that real, raw, and untouched moment? Anddddd, instead of posting to every social media site out there, like I once was, I opted for printed photos that I could actually print and scrapbook. In the mean time, I lost my original domain (www.justbrennon.com) and have had to settle for a copy cat version domain of my original self. SMH.

Anyway, life has been really great (mostly) since I unpublished in January of this year. Let’s see, I spent a week in Phoenix, mostly for a conference, but made time to work out and catch a Phoenix Suns game and have donuts from Fractured Prune. Yummm! I learned how to camp this year and have mastered it-for the most part! I have fished, went bike riding, and learned so many recipes for the camp fire.
My boys and I have vacationed in Cave City, Kentucky, visiting some of the most amazing places like Kentucky Down Under Adventure Zoo, Wigwam Village, Dinosaur World, Mammoth Onyx Cave, and Jelly Stone Cabin Resort. We even took a day trip up to Wisconsin to visit and tour the Jelly Belly Candy Factory with my parents.  Oh my goodness! Sweet heaven!

I’ve gone on a few dates, been out with friends, taken a few crafting classes like the Michael’s Planner Night and a Scrapbooking Journal class. I decorated more than I ever this year for Halloween and threw a huge dinner and invited my family over. My boys have both finished two, soccer seasons and my oldest is now in basketball. We celebrated my youngest son’s birthday at Check E. Cheese and my oldest son’s birthday with a laser tag party with his friends followed by a family party at home. Whew!I attempted a professional certification exam (twice) and failed both times. SMH. I think I better leave that alone. However, I did take a six-week Educational Leadership course and passed it with an A. Whoot! Whoot!

I have been featured in our first alumni newsletter at work and even played in the United Way Corporate Cups Games. I tried out Esthetics school (thumbs down), made new friends at work, bought a Crosley record player, and even gotten back into the routine of working out consistently. Wow! What a 2016!

I even made a DIY Fireplace and mantle for the holidays. Check it out below.

But, you see, all this would not have been possible had I had the worry of blogging for “views”. Don’t get me wrong, I want your “views” because I want you to be inspired to travel, create, and enjoy the beauties that life has to offer, but I won’t buy, beg , or plead for views.

Now, that I know for sure that I do want to blog and clearly what my intentions are, I won’t have that “blogging worry”. You know what I mean, or nah?

So, here is my thing…If you are looking for tons of stock photos of the same cute, white laptop and cup of coffee flat lay; you won’t find it here. (LOL. I’m not good at flat lays anyway.)

But, if you are looking for real photos and real life as we know it. Welcome. Look no further…sit and stay awhile.

Well, I just wanted to share a little with you and get you caught up on where I’ve been! Cheers to an amazing 2017!

Update: I updated this post on 5/22/17 to give you visuals with all of that text. Enjoy! I also added an affiliate link to the Crosley player since I was asked a few times about it.
