It’s 2017! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I cannot believe it is already 2017 and my winter vacation has nearly come to an end. I’m using today to set my intentions for the year, do some planning, and give a quick recap over my winter break goals!

Winter Break Goals Recap

First, I woke up today, thought clearly about how I wanted my day to go, and gave thoughts for the rest of the year. I fixed a cute glass of ice water with cut cup oranges and lemon slices, properly garnished with a pink flamingo straw. I changed into my workout clothes, cranked up my trap music, did some stretches, a mile on the treadmill, and some squats. Whoohoo! Definitely feeling pretty good! My intentions are of course to workout, eat healthy, and take better care of my mind and body.

Next, was planning.

Although, did not do much, I did do some. I swapped out the old wall calendars in the house for new 2017 calendars and made brief notes for January. I removed all of the old months from my Happy Planner and added in the fresh pages for 2017. I then went through and made notes in my new, spiral bound, pink planner that I plan to use for blogging, and my new, financial planner.

Whew! What a mouth-full!

Finally, I sat and thought about my goals for winter break and much I had or had not accomplished.

So, let’s just see.

1. Re-read Jack Canfield’s, The Success Principles and revisit several of the assignments, such as my personal mission statement which can be found <HERE>.

*Point blank. No. I did not even make it to the library to check the book out. I still intend to complete this, but it is something that will be done sometime this month. Moving on….

2. Visit one new place.

*Okay, we visited SEVERAL new places! I have been dying to check out Red Robin! So, we took a day trip and had lunch there! Everything was amazingly yummy, especially their bottomless fries and Blue Moon Cocktail. Afterwards, we hit Prairie Gardens (another newbie), so that I could grab some new houseplants for the New Year. And, after that…we stopped at a park I’ve always wanted to stop at.

Now understand this, there is nothing in the park besides a large, weird shaped tree and a park bench. The boys seemed a bit bored with the idea, but went along with it. So, we found some parking and just took random photos on the tree! Complete randomness, but so fun!

*A few days later, we took a day trip to Chicago and spent time at IKEA in Schaumburg, checking out some new things for the house. I’ve been to the IKEA in Boilingbook, but had yet to visit the Schaumburg location.
And, while we were there, we had lunch. I’ve always wanted to try food from IKEA and this time we did. Lunch for all three of us was only $10! Check out those chicken meatballs!

3. Take boys to see a 3D movie. Trolls was amazing and it’s time for us to check out another one!*Alright. Alright. Yes, we went to the movies! No, it was not 3D. But, that’s okay, too. It was such a cute set up. We woke up one morning around 8 AM. I told the boys to get dressed because I had errands to run. They got dressed and we did, in fact, run errands.

But, after the errands, we pulled up to the mall and I told them that we needed to run in and grab something. But, really I was taking them to see Sing at the 9:30 showing. As we walked up to the mall, they asked if we could see Sing. I told them, it was important that we stay on track and take care of what I needed to. As we walked in, I walked right into the movie theater and asked for the tickets. They were extremely excited! It couldn’t have gone any better!

4. Create my 2017 Vision Board. – Of course!

5. Swap the Gingerbread House that we do every year for the Ugly Sweater Gingerbread Cookies Kit.—Of course! Fun! Fun Fun!

6. Switch out archived photos for updated photos; one post per day.

*Alright. Alright. I have done some. But, this type of task takes time and will continue to take more time.

7. Plan blog posts for January in my new planner & only write what I like. – A little bit!

8. De-clutter and organize books, photos, and craft/party supplies. – Yes! Done! Thank goodness!

9. Workout an hour, four days per week. – No, just today!

10. Pair up work outfits. – Tomorrow.

Whew! There you have it!

Even with only most of the winter break, vacation goals satisfied, I am so happy with how our winter break, vacation turned. I can’t wait to work on the scrapbook and share those memories!

Happy New Year!!
