January is National Bath Safety Month and it serves as a reminder for parents to take all necessary precautions during bath time. This is especially important to me since we have a toddler. And even more important since I’ve been into creating fun-themed baths for her lately.
For the new year, I created her a Gabby’s Dollhouse-themed bath, but have created others in the past which can be seen below on Instagram.
Beat the Germs with Cleanliness
As I create these baths for her, I have to keep safety in mind above all. To ensure her safety, I first clean out our tub and shower thoroughly even though she is still using her Summer Infant Lil Luxuries Whirlpool Bubbling Spa & Shower in the color pink.
Cleaning out the tub is important because I do not want her touching nasty shower film on the shower walls and tub while she is playing.
July Home Electric Spin Scrubbers
To clean the tub and shower, I first use this Electric Spin Scrubber by July Home found on Amazon to clean all the nooks and crannies. This is a must as it gets all the filth and grim off the shower walls and in the tub. It comes in black and white. We have a white one.

LUXEAR Shower Squeegee
Afterward, I wipe down the shower and tub with a sponge and then use this LUXEAR Shower Squeegee also found on Amazon to wipe away the excess water from the shower. This squeegee is made of quality materials, is easy to assemble, and matches the aesthetic of our bathroom.

Mini Bathtub to Prevent Slips and Falls
Once the tub is clean, I place her Lil Luxuries Whirlpool Bubbling Spa & Shower in our tub on the shower mat. This keeps her mini tub from slipping and sliding in the bathtub and allows me to keep her contained in a smaller area with a smaller amount of water to keep her from injury or drowning.
Appropriate Water Temperature with Baby Bath Thermometer
Once the tub is in place, I fill it with warm water and check it with a baby bath thermometer. The thermometer that I use will light up red if it is too hot and green if it is just right. After knowing that the water is an appropriate temperature, I toss in some fun-themed bath toys. I’m very mindful and choose only bath-friendly toys and nothing electric, of course.
Supervision with a Seated Stool
Finally, I have a pink seated cushion stool that I place beside the tub so that I can bathe and monitor her as she plays. Supervision is important and I never leave her alone.
Final Thoughts
In summary, if you are a parent who enjoys creating fun-themed baths for your children, be sure to keep safety first. With January being National Bath Safety Month now is a fantastic time to revisit your bath safety procedures.
