This weekend we had no travel plans because we really needed to rest up and get some things in order at home. However, the weather was nice, so I couldn’t help but take the boys out and enjoy some fresh air for a few hours. Since, my new Blue Lagoon, Koki Outdoors Double Hammock arrived this past week, I thought it would be the perfect day to try it out.
So, this afternoon, we headed straight to our favorite park, Kickapoo State Park (where we go camping) and hung out a bit. The boys played with their football, basketball, and skate boards, while I did the unboxing of the hammock.
Unboxing
Inside the Amazon box were two nylon bags in the Blue Lagoon, Special Edition colors. The larger bag was the hammock, itself, while the smaller one included two, tree straps to hang the hammock. Also, included was a 1-2-3 instruction card that was attached to the hammock.
Set Up
To set up the hammock, I removed the straps from the smaller bag and wrapped them around the tree, pulling the rope through. After doing this for both ends, I knotted the rope and attached the hammock to the rope at each end. I pulled each one snuggly to make sure that everything was sturdy. That’s it.
Sitting in the Hammock
Sitting in the hammock for the first time was a bit challenging, mainly because I thought I would fall or would be too big for the hammock. The good news is, I didn’t fall and I wasn’t too big. The Koki Outdoors Double Hammock can hold up to 400 pounds!
Take Down
After spending a bit of time with the hammock, I decided I would take it down and we would leave. Taking the hammock down was even easier than the set up. Simply unhook the hammock and tuck it in the bag. Remove the straps from the tree and tuck them in the bag. Then you are done! How easy!
Affordability
Koki Outdoors Double Hammocks can be found on Amazon and if you use your Amazon Prime, then shipping is, of course, free!
Reccommendation
If you are looking for your first hammock, I would definitely recommend this one. The instructions were not intimidating and I did not get frustrated trying to put it together. The nylon material is thin, which is one reason why I felt that I would fall, but it actually holds pretty well. Finally, since, I do camp a lot, I will say that I do plan to bring this hammock to lounge in while camping, but I would not recommend it as an overnight, sleeping hammock.
So, there you have it! Feel free to check out the video below and go ahead and subscribe! I’ll be posting our trip to the Great Smoky Mountains next week!
See you soon!
