As summer is quickly approaching, we’re getting geared up for our summer travel adventure on Route 66. If you are new to the blog, you can get caught up by reading a piece of our journey on Route 66 in Needles, California. In that post, I visualize us driving down Route 66 with a small pull behind camper and our bikes, really enjoying the opportunity and taking in the scenery. So, in today’s post, I’m giving you the details of our ideal perfect camper for Route 66.

For starters, no we do not have our camper yet. However, it’s something I’m sure will manifest in the near future and in perfect timing. So, until it manifests, I have been searching for our ideal perfect camper and I found it in this one; the Happier Camper HC1.

When I see us traveling down Route 66, I don’t envision anything huge, clunky, and unreliable. I visualize a small, compact camper with just enough space for our small family. We aren’t looking for an enormous amount of space and luxury. Not for this adventure anyway.

We simply want something lightweight, compact, modern, and reliable with enough space to sleep, relax in and eat in if necessary; and the Happier Camper HC1 provides all of that.

No, this post is not sponsored by makers of the Happier Camper HC1 (but does contain affiliate links to additional products mentioned). It’s just that after tons of research and visiting various camper lots, this is what I am most happy and comfortable towing with my SUV.

The Happier Camper HC1

After digging  around on the internet, I found the Happier Camper HC1 to be everything that we need. Not only does it have a modern retro vibe perfect for Route 66, I’ve listed a few features that are important to us below.

  • The Happier Camper HC1 is solar powered.
  • This travel trailer is lightweight ranging from 1200-1800 pounds depending on your add-ons.
  • Add-ons such as burner stove tops and an AC/DC fridge/freezer are available to make your travel trailer everything that you need.
  • There is a huge rear hatch and wide door opening which is important for us because we need to be able to easily get in and out with our bikes.
  • The Happier Camper has an interior modular system (Adaptiv) which allows you to configure the inside of your camper to fit your needs. For example, you can have space for up to five people to sleep or rearrange it for a kitchen area. That’s what I’m talking about!

Final Thoughts

The 2019 HC1 Travel-Trailer by Happier Camper is now available for purchase through their website with pricing starting at approximately $24,950. But, is there something else more affordable for us? I’m sure that there is, but for now, this is our ideal perfect camper for Route 66.
