Planning a Girls’ Night Out

Girls Night Out

When we’re in our late teens and early 20’s, girls’ nights out are commonplace. We spend as much time as we possibly can with our girlfriends. We go to nightclubs, the cinema, we meet for dinner, and we enjoy girly nights in drinking wine and eating takeout.

This time with our friends is fantastic. It’s a way to relax and unwind as well as a chance to have fun. Time with your friends can be a tremendous mental health boost and give you time to talk about any worries and concerns that you might have or anything that you aren’t happy about.

But, as we start to get older, spending time with our friends starts to become more difficult. We get married, have kids, and start our professional jobs. We have less free time, and when we do have free time, we want to spend time with our family.

Life seems to get in the way. And if you think that arranging time to spend with one friend is hard, try trying to get the whole squad back together. It can seem almost impossible.

But, what we once in a while, we decided to put our friendships first, or at least make them a priority; for the good of the relationships, as well as your own happiness. Below are some tips to help you to plan a great girls’ night out.

Schedule it in Advance

If you want as many of your friends to get together as possible, it’s a good idea to give them as much notice as you can. Speak to them, find a date that most of you can work with, and schedule it in your planner like you would anything else important that you may have going on in life. Simply make it a priority.

By giving everyone in the friendship circle plenty of notice, it gives everyone the opportunity to handle important details such as taking time off, getting child care, etc.

Make Some Bookings

We’re more likely to follow through with a plan if we’ve made bookings. It can also be an excellent way to make the most of your limited time and get some great deals. There are a lot of amazing nightclubs, perfect for a night out with the girls.

If nightclubs aren’t your thing, have no worries, there are so many other things that you can choose to do. For example, you may consider booking a table for a meal at an exclusive restaurant, enjoying a paint night, or wine festival. Either way, making bookings allows you to have something to look forward to.

Start Early

You might not be as good at painting the town red as you used to be. Once we’ve settled down, most of us are in bed by ten, ready for an early start. Therefore, the idea of a night out can be a little scary. But, if you start the evening early, you don’t have to worry about flagging later on. You can all go home when you are ready, without feeling as though you are missing out.

And, really, if evening plans are not a great fit, start the festivities earlier with breakfast, brunch, or lunch. A day party or day festival can be just as much fun as something in the evening.

Try Some New Things

A girls’ night out is a great time to let your hair down and have some fun. It’s the perfect chance to try something new, instead of going to all of your old favorites. Try new restaurants and bars, do something active, like bowling, or try something utterly left-field like going to a sports event. Get out of your comfort zone and go for it!

Consider Everyone’s Needs and Interests

As we get older, our needs and interests often change, as some of our friendships do, too. Some of the squad may need to find childcare, some may be dieting, or even trying to save money for a life event. So ask these questions ahead of time to make sure the outing is feasible for all involved.

Final Thoughts

Following the tips listed above, should make planning a girls’ night out a piece of cake.  Decide on a common date in advance, schedule your bookings, consider starting early, get out of your comfort zone, and consider everyone’s needs and interests. But, above all, enjoy yourselves, be thankful for the time that you are able to share with one another, and make beautiful memories.
