Surprising Background For Team-Building Careers

Did  you know that October is Employee Ownership Month? That’s right. In addition, October 4th is Improve Your Office Day. So, to recognize and promote a positive work environment, I want to share some surprising backgrounds for team-building careers.

While people commonly think professionals who provide team building services have a common work history, this isn’t necessarily true. Don’t think of your typical entrepreneur or manager. Think outside of the box.

Any employee with passion and drive to improve their work community and has an understanding of what a team is can prove to be fitting for a team-building career.

But, what is a team?

A team is a close community of employees who need to interact and engage productively together. It is the epitome of organized tasks and process. It is also the combination of individual emotions and sensitivities.

There are multiple angles of actions that you could take to encourage businesses to cooperate and collaborate effectively and positively.

As explained previously, some of the best team building experts come from the least expected backgrounds – for example Social Work.

Consider this.

Social work helps you to understand micro-communities

Think of a team as a small community that needs to establish its own rules to come together and work. When you do, you suddenly realize that a career or a degree in Social Work can give you the insights you need to make it work.

Did you know that through an advanced online MSW – (Master of Social Work degree) that you get to understand the essential rules of social interactions and social support?

That’s right.

Equipped with this knowledge, you can decipher the existing social approaches within a business environment and actively establish and correct rules towards better integration of the personal.

Ultimately, a company acts as a microscopic self-serving society, meaning that you can apply what you’ve learned about social work in general to its internal structure.

A travel background keeps your organized

But, Social Work is not the only surprising career that makes a good fit for team building.  Consider a person who enjoys travel, whether it be professionally or as a hobby. This person understands team building at its core because teamwork requires the same attention to detail.

Ponder this.

You can’t plan any visit without knowing first the basic information about the location. For example, you wouldn’t go to visit Lamon House without first knowing about Abraham Lincoln and the fact that Lamon and Lincoln were law partners – now, would you?

You would also need to make sure sure everyone involved has some type of interest for the common good of the trip, right? Exactly.

Of course, more details are involved. But, you get the idea.

Final Thoughts on Team-Building Careers

Regardless of your career, if you have the passion and drive to help promote a sense of team building within your work establishment – go for it! Simply, bring the positivity, education, and skills that you have to help promote a healthy and thriving work environment this October.
