The Best Things You Can Do When Visiting France

France is one of the oldest countries in the world. It has a long history and has stood the test of time despite a history filled with conflict. There is no surprise that it is one of the favorite destinations of people around the world. Many people like to visit Paris whilst others like to rent a yacht in France at 12knots.com so they can sail around its magnificent coast. There is so much to do, and each region offers its own delicacies. If you are thinking of going to France, then here are a few pieces of advice.

Visit Paris

It is called the City of Light. It dazzles throughout the day and through the evening no matter where you are. You could be strolling down the La Ville Lumiere or passing by the Galeries Lafayette. It has incomparable museums that showcase art, culture, fashion, and history.

Not only this, but it is not without parks and green spaces. This is without talking about the world-class restaurants and the delightful bakeries. There is so much to do and if you are visiting France then you should make sure to at least stop in Paris for a little while.

Cruise the River Seine

The river Seine is one of the largest rivers in France and it goes through Paris. It begins in the Northeast of France near Dijon flowing down through Paris and entering the English Channel.

Along the way, not only will you get to see the landmarks of Paris from a new perspective, but you will snake through an emerald landscape filled with apple orchards and the famous Normande cattle. Often on these cruises, the crew will ensure that you are filled with Brie and topped up with cider. Make sure to sample the Calvados as you pass through Normandy.

Live a Life of Luxury

If you would like to see a very different side of France, then you can dip into Monte Carlo to see how luxurious and lavish life is. It is famous for its Grand Prix, but it also provides some of the most captivating seafront views.

The French Riviera is here and there is no surprise why it is so popular. Streets filled with cafés and restaurants brimming with fresh fish, the Monte Carlo region truly shows the prestige that is associated with France.

Feel the History of Normandy

Normandy has existed since the first millennium. It may have a recent and tumultuous past enshrined in the Normandy D-Day landings but there are also medieval traces to be seen. Wonderful churches exist capturing the France of old.

However, you would be remiss if you did not also visit the Second World War museums, cemeteries, and memorials. There is plenty to see and do in this wonderful region.

Visiting France

France is a wonderful place to visit. There is so much history and lots of cultures to take in. You don’t need to do it all in one trip. However, don’t fall into the trap of thinking once you have been to Paris, you have been to France.
