Don’t you love blogs that still allow you to get a little bit into their business and see what life is like for them? I know I do. With that in mind, I am bringing you another What I’m Doing Now post covering a morning networking event, a newfound fashion gem, and my first experience with a Christmas planner.
Morning Networking – For the Birds
To begin, let me tell you about this. I decided to get out of my comfort zone and attend a morning networking event that I was invited to upon returning from maternity leave. As I drive to work, I considered the event but hadn’t made up my mind about whether or not I would attend.
In the midst of that, I continued listening to my morning podcast with Jim Rhon. When I realized it, I had driven to the networking event and was pulling up. A rather subconscious thing that happened, I suppose.
Speaking of the subconscious mind, have you read Subliminal: How Your Unconscious Mind Rules Your Behavior by Leonard Mlodinow?
If not, you should. I spoke about it on an Amazon live stream that I did last week. Be sure and check it out.
Anyway, back to the networking event.
Since I had already driven myself there, I went ahead and went in. I had no business cards, nothing, but I went and ended up having a nice (but quick) moment there. I mingled a bit and chatted with about six people and high-tailed it out the door.
When I arrived back at my car, I realized the wind had blown my bun and some of my hair was sticking straight up like a little bird, a parrot – to be exact. I have no idea whether or not it was like that during the networking event. If it were or were not, I will never know.
Dresses in the Winter with Fleece-Lined Leggings
Officially it is not winter, however, the weather begs to differ. The temperatures are cold and the frost is not shy about glazing the windshields in the morning. But, regardless of what the forecast is throwing, I’ve still been wearing my dresses.
Only now, I’ve discovered the hidden gem of wearing your dresses warmly and comfortably in the cold. And, that’s fleece-lined leggings that come in the color of your skin tone that I found on Youtube mentioned by an influencer. So, I jumped on Amazon immediately (of course), so that I could order my own pair.

As a past Apparel Merchandising and Design student, I feel that this is something I should have known about a long time ago. But, for whatever reason, I didn’t. Oh well, the good news is that I know now and can move forward with my newfound knowledge.
If you haven’t been wearing these or didn’t know that they existed, “Welcome to the club! Go grab yourself some!”
Using a Christmas Planner This Year
Lastly, I recently found out about Christmas planners. Again, something I should have known about, but didn’t until recently. When I learned about it (from someone on YouTube), you know exactly what I did. Jumped on Amazon for my own.
While scrolling, I noticed that these range from very simple planners, to very luxe-style planners. With this being my first experience with a Christmas planner, I went with a very simple and inexpensive one for $6 with the absolute prettiest cover.

I surely did not need a luxe-style planner this year, as we are not planning for anything extravagant. That’s not to say that in the future, I wouldn’t mind having one.
So, far I have some stocking stuffer ideas, Christmas lists, decorations planned, and a Christmas bucket list of things to do already penned in. I figure over the coming weeks, it will begin to fill more. However I respond to this planner will let me know if I even need one for next year. So, I guess we will just have to see.
Final Thoughts
Well, there you have it. A peek into a few things that have taken up a bit of energy of mine lately. In an upcoming post, I’ll share a bit more of what’s been going on in life lately including our Christmas Bucket List, a day trip or two, and some new year goals! I’ll also be sharing a list of manifestation mediations that I use often from YouTube that help with attracting your goals.
