What I’m Doing Now 01.12.20 Collectors Edition

It’s the second Sunday of the new year and I have a lot to share, so it’s perfect timing for a new Sunday, What I’m Doing Now. Wouldn’t you agree?

But before we jump in, I want to note that many of the toys mentioned below are rare and/or collectors items. If you are interested in anything or have further questions, feel free to email me at brennon {at} justbrennonblog.com.

Listening

Music is definitely my jam. So, it goes without saying that when I am creating these posts, I am listening to music. I’m still crushing on Kem, so Human Touch is currently playing. I play Kem from my Spotify playlist using my iPhone and a Portable Bluetooth Speaker

It’s fairly new and shows up in some of my photos (above) on the blog when I’m shooting at my desk. I got it in December and am loving it. The design is thin, sleek, and modern. It also stays charged for at least a week before I have to charge it up. It’s definitely been one of the best purchases for me in a while.

Another artist that was recently introduced to me was Snoh Aalegra. I hadn’t heard of her before the song I Want You Around was brought to my attention. So, I’ve been getting the house cleaned and laundry done listening to her album. I think I’m getting ready to add her to my favorites playlist on Spotify. Have you heard of her?

Thinking

I always have so much on my mind. But, this evening I just keep replaying all of the beautiful moments I shared with my son and my nieces this weekend. We created an array of projects over the weekend.

Weird-ohs Model Kits

For starters, my son and I played Checkers and then decided to put together some classic Weird-ohs Model Monster Kits. I picked these kits up last year at Dollar Tree for us to spend an evening around Halloween putting them together. Well, Halloween came and went and the kits were still hanging around on the closet shelf. So my son and decided to give them a whirl.

I put together Sling Rave Curvette Model Number 16017 & my son put together Wade A. Minut Model Number 16016. We didn’t have cement glue so I used a glue gun and they turned out just fine. Now that they are put together, we just need to spend some time painting them. But, I want to make sure we have the correct paint because just any ol’ paint won’t work.

For anyone interested in these rare and classic model kits, I have linked them in this post and will be doing a full review soon. I also want to note that there are enough parts in each kit to complete two models. A few kits are available on Amazon and some fully constructed models are available on eBay from various sellers.

Galactic Goop

Galactic Goop Experiment Kit

On Saturday, after running a couple errands, I came home to the boys working together on the Galactic Goop Experiment Kit from Christmas. When I walked in and saw the experiment going on I got a little nervous. But, as I got closer I was satisfied to see that my oldest son had helped prep the area for a minimal mess and easy clean up.

Talk about thankful!

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Dolls! Stickers! Stickers! & More Stickers!

Lastly, aside from playing with our dolls, Gabby, Shasha, and Gabriella (my childhood Spanish speaking doll)  my niece and I created a tri-fold board of stickers at random.

I was in the midst of creating my birthday advent calendar for the fun of it when my nieces arrived.

*I’ll be posting more about the advent calendar later in the week.

My oldest niece saw the stickers and was ready to get to work. I handed her a stack of index cards, washi tape, and stickers and let her go to work while I was working.

She began creating cards for the people that she loved. So sweet. But, when she saw that my advent cards had a poster back, she also needed a poster back. I quickly grabbed her a mini triboard that I had and she immediately got to work with more stickers.

I think by the time we were done, we had gone through at least seven packs of stickers. I asked her why she enjoyed the stickers and she told me that “stickers make people happy”.

I told her, “I agree” and showed her my first Lisa Frank sticker collection from when I was 10 years old. I was in love with all things Lisa Frank and still am.

Never in a million years would I have thought that I would be sitting down with my niece going over my Lisa Frank sticker collection from my childhood.

I also let her use a few of my Lisa Frank Collectors Edition stickers. Now, that’s special.

Weather, Wearing, Wanting, and Needing

As for the category of Wearing, Wanting, and Needing, I’m skipping that today. I look like hell and am lounging in some plaid Christmas pants from a few years back.

The weather is cold and it snowed.

In addition to that, my wants and needs have stayed the same except for the fact that my sticker collection has just been bum-rushed by my five-year-old niece and I’ll be needing new ones very soon. LOL.

Happy Sunday! What’s going on with y’all!
