January is National Hot Tea Month

National Hot Tea Month

Even though January is in the midst of winter, I love the month for so many reasons. For starters, it is my birthday month and also the start of the new calendar year. In addition, it’s the month I typically create my vision board for the year and recently, I learned that it was National Hot Tea Month; and I enjoy tea.

You can see my tea quotes in a lot of my photos when I talk about my spirituality.

So, quite naturally, I was intrigued to write up a post on this delicious national month and cover the details on this gorgeous assortment of delicious tea from my aunt in Germany.

You are enough

A Little Background

My aunt and I write to each other as penpals and she always sends me such wonderful packages of goodies aside from her letter. Every few months I look forward to that care package sitting on my front porch when I arrive from work.

Sometimes, I’m looking forward to the surprises and other times, I am looking for the written word and encouragement that she writes in her heartfelt letters.

My Most Recent Package

In my most recent package she sent me Jasmine incense, an assortment of delicious tea, a mini tote bag from her trip to London, a mini Christmas gift bag, and a large reindeer tote which I carried shopping in this post

I love it all!

But, enough about that, let’s talk about this tea and what the purpose of National Hot Tea Month is.

National Hot Tea Month

For starters, it is said that tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world. Are you shocked or surprised? I’m not because with so many flavors, variations, and healing properties, I can see why.

I enjoy drinking a cup of hot tea in the morning while working through my meditation routine. I also enjoy it in the evenings before bed occasionally. I typically use tea bags, but from time to time, I do enjoy loose leaf tea.

English Tea Party Collectible Gift Set

The English Tea Party set from New English Teas that my aunt sent is loose leaf tea. The three tins included Afternoon Tea which is typically enjoyed in the afternoon with sandwiches and pastries, Breakfast Tea which is typically enjoyed at breakfast and Earl Grey

Earl Grey is one of my all time favorites. While most teas are enjoyed with sugar cubes or what not, I enjoy having my Earl Grey Tea alone with nothing added.

An Afternoon High Tea

One thing that I have not yet experienced is a proper afternoon high tea. I save photos on Pinterest about them all the time, but have yet to experience one. Hopefully, I will get around to it this year, perhaps for my birthday. But, we’ll see what the month brings.

Final Thoughts

With there being so many more days left in this month, it allows plenty of time for people to celebrate National Hot Tea Month. A few ways to celebrate would be to take a few moments out and enjoy a cup of hot tea, try a new hot tea, or even enjoy a proper afternoon high tea.
