With tomorrow being Thanksgiving, I wanted to take a few moments out to share Why I Am Thankful for My Blog.
At the end of 2016, I decided to rebrand and “get my blogging on” even more than before. My goal for my blog was to use it as a way to document our travels and potentially earn part-time income. I also wanted to inspire people to travel and get outside of their comfort zones.
I had no strategic plan and had to learn everything about SEO, Rich Pins, How to Create Pinterest Pins, How to Pitch Letters to Brands, How to Use Keywords, How to Use Canva, How to Use PicMonkey, How to Use Affiliate Marketing, and How to Disclose Sponsored Posts.
I also had to open up new profiles on Twitter and Instagram and learn trending #Hashtags, as well as learn Self-Hosted WordPress after transitioning from Weebly. Whew!
I had to learn that Pinterest is not Social Media, but a Search Engine and that #Hashtags were useless and keywords were more important. Thank you, Melissa.
I invested in myself and learned as much as I could from other bloggers such as printables, email courses, and even a few webinars.
I had to learn a lot – in between our travels, my family, my full-time job, etc. Sometimes, I don’t know how I did it.
But, I am happy with my progress and amazed at how much I accomplished and learned with this blog.
Am I making thousands of dollars with this blog? No. Do I have thousands of followers on any one particular social media channel? No. But, each day, everything grows a little bit more than before. And, for that I am grateful.
With all of that said…
I am thankful for you; both, readers and sponsors. Because without you, this blog would be nothing.
To my faithfully engaged readers like Jefferey; Thank You! Thank you for always dropping in, leaving comments, and entering my giveaways.
To sponsors who have approached me; Thank You! Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your new products and attractions.
To companies and brands I have pitched to; Thank You! Thank you for communicating with me; and a heartfelt Thank You to those I have worked with.
To other bloggers I have worked with and/or admire; Thank You! Believe it or not, we are all in this together. And, as so many influential people have said in the past; there is enough out here for everyone. Cheers to 2018!
Finally, a HUGE Thank You to my Dad, Diego, and Tinisha for believing in me; Just Brennon – a full-time mom with a part-time blog.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Cheers to My Mini Blog Roll
