Banzai Water Slide Review + 4 Summer Fun Ideas

This post is a shout out to you, Helen and Sandra! Thank you for supporting this blog. So, in today’s post, I am combining a Banzai Water Slide Review and four more summer fun ideas to make summer even better, in the backyard that is!

For starters…

What is the Banzai Speed Blast Water Slide?

The Banzai Water Slide is basically another version of the original Slip ‘N Slide by Wham-O. This is not something that was provided to me. Instead, I was in search of something inexpensive to keep my boys busy and having fun while we chill out in the backyard this summer. I love a relaxed family lifestyle with a dash of fun!

I scrolled through a Fingerhut book that was sent to me and asked them if they would be interested in one of the waterslides, with this being one of them. They said, yes. But, when I looked at the price, it was $29.99.

I said to myself, I am certain, I can get this a little cheaper in the stores, so I headed off to Menards where I found the exact same thing for $6 and some change; so I grabbed it.

I mean, six bucks! Heck yes, I want it, especially if it is simple and is going to work!

Here’s what you can expect.

The Banzai Speed Blast Water Slide is a simple and easy, one-lane water slide. You do not have to inflate it with air because the water hose will do it for you.

You simply unroll the water slide, stake down the two orange stakes, and attach the water hose. That’s it.

It’s really that simple.

Although I chose the one-lane slider, Banai offers several versions of this slide such as the double lane and the triple lane water slide. Each one can be found online or in stores for around $40.

If you are wondering about weight restrictions, keep this in mind. My boys are 7 and 12 and of healthy weight and they have no problems on the slide. However, the box does caution that adults should not use the slide and ages should range from 5 to 12 years of age.

Aside from that, you can actually expect this to be hours of inexpensive fun. We have used this almost every day since having it and there have been no problems. No tears, no punctures. Nothing.

But, wait! I’m bored!

Lastly, if your children get bored with using it as a just a slide consider these four ideas below to shake things up a bit.

#1 Build an obstacle course around it.

Use a few obstacle course rings or spray paint circles on the grass next to the slide and add a box on the other side. Have the children, hop through the circles, jump over the box, and end with a run down the slide. Get creative!

#2 Use it as a sprinkler pad.

The neighbors had company one day while the boys were out on the slide. Two little girls came running into the yard and running down the slide just to get sprinkled. LOL.

As they played, I laughed and said, that’s a good idea. They also ended up grabbing my plastic watering can and catching the water from the sprinkler and pouring it back on the slide. They were having fun, so it didn’t bother me one bit. I would much rather see them doing that – than sitting on an electronic device in the house.

Wouldn’t you agree?

#3 Add a small wading pool at the end.

Make it even more relaxing by adding a small baby pool at the end. The kids could then get in and relax in the pool while having the water spraying from the slide.

#4 Use it as a photo opportunity.

Finally, why not use it as a fun way to take summer photos? Want to have even more fun, use a Fuji Waterproof Disposable Camera and let the kids have fun and capture their own memories. My son and I used one last year in the swimming pool and it was one of the best times we have ever had!

Final Thoughts

The Banzai Speed Blast Water Slide is an inexpensive, fun way to entertain kids this summer. And, if it gets a little boring, shake things up a bit by including a combination of the additional four ideas to make it even more fun!

I’m always looking for things to keep my boys busy in the summer. We don’t have a pool so I usually set up a sprinkler but this looks a lot more fun!
