I’m sitting at Harvest Market having breakfast, reviewing the month, and paying remaining bills for February while I wait on my partial to be complete. Yes, partial, or as they call it, a flipper.
I cannot even believe I’m writing this right now. I never thought the day would come when I needed partials, dentures, nor implants. And, damn, let’s not talk about the gray hair.
But, here we are. I guess this is life knocking on your forties.
As I wrote in a previous post, I was having huge issues dealing with my recent back tooth extraction. Although it’s technically a “back tooth”, I smile so big that it’s a front tooth to me.
I’m sure many people would be okay with this, but for me it hasn’t been something I’ve been able to “get used to”.
After seeing how much the tooth affected my smile and behavior when interacting with others I knew that it was something that needed immediate attention once it properly healed.
So, while looking up a dental office to complete a more complex extraction for my son, I came across Affordable Dentures and Implants. After scrolling through their website, I couldn’t believe how transparent they were. All the prices. All the services.
Everything…just right there in front of you with no hidden costs.
So, I called them up and asked about a consultation. I was told very kindly that my consultation and X-ray could be completed for $1 (for new patients) the next day and that if I chose to have the partial that it could be ready later that day. Holy moly!
Sign Me Up!
Once I arrived, everything was simple and the office was very clean. The doctor and staff were kind and a bit humorous. But, I’m sure some of that was because of my dramatics regarding the missing tooth, blogging, and being in the public eye professionally.
The first part of the process probably 30 minutes which included an X-ray, a brief exam of my teeth, matching the color of me teeth, and the actual dental impressions for the partial.
I will pause for the cause here and pat myself on the back a moment. When it was time to match my enamel color, my color was the very first white choice. Whew! Thank you, Smile Brilliant! It made me happy that even though I’ve had some teeth issues (i.e cavities) my enamel has been good. I do brush and floss and all of that but with genetics and a few births calcium loss and cavities are expected.
Anywho, it’s time for me to go back to the office, but I’ll be back.
Returning for the Flipper
Upon returning two hours later, I only spent another 15 minutes there which was basically making sure my new flipper was a good fit along with showing me how to wear and care for my new tooth addition along with providing me with a starter care box.
Upon my departure, I was smiling “wildly” as my nine year describes my smile when the doctor gave a joke about me gaining new subscribers with my smile now being fixed.
I cheered, laughed, took a few selfies (of course), and headed home.
While this is not a sponsored post, I feel these are the blog reviews that really matter. Those that are authentic and from nothing but the heart and the actual experience with no extra faux fluff.
My experience with Affordable Dentures and Implants was nothing but harmonious from the time I made the call to the time I left. There was no negativity or bad energy with any of the process, meeting and interacting staff, the payment process, etc.
Oftentimes, when we are completing services and it comes time to pay, you feel that disruptive pang in your belly because the bill was more than you expected or something was either hidden or not communicated, but this didn’t happen.
The prices are clearly posted and you pay the exact amount. Not a penny more. Not a penny less. This is something I can definitely appreciate.
Final Thoughts
It’s been a few days now since having my flipper and I feel so much better. It did take a day to get used to because I had to adjust how I eat a little with it in and how I talk. But, again, that was only for the first day.
Since, I am still in the middle of my dental treatment plan at another dental office, there is a possibility that I will have to have another tooth removed. And, if so, I can add on the current flipper if needed, until I am ready to have actual dental implants.
And, when that time comes, I’ll more than likely be sitting right back in the same office to complete the process because I know the service will be great and I know exactly how much I’ll be spending.
