This is technically a What I’m Doing Now 03.25.20 post. However, it was important that my title reflected the free worksheet.
In my last What I’m Doing Now update, I chatted about COVID-19 … such as changes that were taking place up until that point. Well, we all know what’s going on now, so I won’t spend tons of time on it.
What I will tell you is that I have a post coming out later today with a few random medical facts and how we can use some of these tips as most of us are quarantined, but still needing to take precautions, especially if we live with people who are out and about on a daily basis.
Aside from this, I want to chat briefly about what I’ve been doing with my time since being quarantined and away from the blog much more than I ever have since beginning in 2014.
What’s Been Up?
For starters, I have been working from home in my new position. I am so thankful, I have the opportunity to do so because so many people are not afforded that opportunity. Since, I understand how grateful I am, I have been giving a considerable amount of my time to simply being present in the position; learning the new systems, completing training, creating new content, brainstorming ideas, etc.
All of which has lessened my time spent blogging and creating new content for this blog. But that’s okay because when I do publish a few new posts (more coming soon) they will provide value and or give you an update on what’s going on in this corner of the internet.
Aside from all of this, let’s talk about how I’ve been spending my quarantine time effectively.
How to Use Quarantine Effectively
With the shelter in place issued by the government and so many people being “forced” to stay home, I have come to learn that time management, motivation, and self-discipline are so important right now.
I don’t know how many posts that I’ve seen about people being bored in the house, eating up all the snacks, and going to sleep waiting for “this thing” to be over with. Personally, I feel that this is one of the worst things that you can possibly do right now.
From my perspective we have been given the opportunity to really invest in ourselves during this time. So, for me I have been using each day to complete a project or tasks that have been on my to do list for quite awhile. I’ve also been checking my Lifebook, as well to see what things that I can be doing to give us a jump start once the shelter in place has been lifted and we return to somewhat normal lives again.
Things I Have Been Doing (Aside from Working)
- I have been exercising everyday using my treadmill, resistance bands, ab roller, yoga ball, and Wonder Arms. I’ve also done some pushups towards the most recent Instagram Push Up Challenge.
- I have started my container garden and bag garden, all of which are in my mini greenhouse. Sometime this week, I plan to give a review of the greenhouse, along with the steps I took to create the bag garden.
- I have continued my meditation routines. Yesterday was the new moon, so I made sure to spend some extra time in gratitude and also with my journaling.
- I have spent quality time with my son making fruit smoothies, discussing sustainability, etc.
This was just a brief bullet point list of a few things that I have been doing. There are of course, so many others. To help you out, I’ve put together a FREE printable for you to print out to help you be productive during this time.
