How to Change Your Life in 2020

How to Change Your Life in 2020

We all like to start the New Year thinking we’re going to make big changes! Unfortunately, a lot of our resolutions and changes soon fall flat. This year, instead of making a bunch of woolly resolutions destined to fail, here are some ways you can really change your life in 2020.

Make a Realistic Plan

Forget about resolutions, instead, make a solid plan for 2020. Think about all the various aspects of your life and think of ways you want to improve in each. For example, if you want to get fit this year then get specific with your goals.

When getting started, know your “why”, ask yourself some hard questions, and give yourself honest answers.

For example, questions may include the following…

What weight do you want to achieve? By when? How are you going to do it?

When we start to plan our life like this we can start to make serious efforts towards achieving our personal goals. A great life doesn’t just happen, it has to be planned, worked on and earned.

Go Mostly Whole Foods Plant-based

No doubt you will have noticed how veganism exploded throughout the last couple of years. While this drive has mostly been down to animal rights issues, there is an increasing amount of research to suggest that a whole foods plant-based diet can be really healthy for us.

By avoiding heavily processed foods, unnatural foods, and foods high in fat and sugar such as  cheese, cream and dairy chocolate, people have reported significant health improvements including weight loss, better sleep, and more energy.

Raise your hand if you would like more energy this year!

Due to the huge rise in veganism, there is no shortage of useful information on the web to help you transition your new lifestyle. Consider Walmart for your shopping needs and grab some of their Walmart coupons and load up on some healthy whole foods.

Say “No” More

Our modern busy lives demand that we are always doing something interesting, constantly reporting our ‘fascinating’ lives on Instagram or tweeting about what we are up to.

This year, take your foot off the break and focus on self-improvement rather than keeping up with the Jones’s.

Envision your best life and say no to everything that doesn’t align with that vision.

For example, start saying no to regular drunken weekends, say no to lots of underappreciated overtime at work, and say no to social events that don’t add value to your life.

Instead, why not use your extra time to focus on yourself or family members? Read more, take higher learning courses, spend more quality time with your family or just relax more. Slow down the fast and busy lifestyle and give yourself time to enjoy a calmer lifestyle.

Keep Your Promises and Do What You Say

Have you ever met someone that is ‘flaky’? The type of person that says they are going to do all these amazing things with their life but never put the work in. We have all to a certain extent become ‘flaky’. But, let’s leave that in 2019.

In 2020, let’s change the habit of follow through and  do what you say that you are going to do. If you say you’re going to learn yoga this year then do it!

Final Thoughts

Don’t be that “New Year New Me” person that doesn’t follow through and live up to that claim. Instead, become intentional and change your mindset for the better.

The world is full of people who want to achieve great things but all those goals require inspired action and commitment. Once you achieve something you set out to do, there is no better feeling in the world.
